I can't wait to get out after lunch today. Twelve, that's right, TWELVE, degrees. Short sleeves, no leg warmers, it's going to be bliss!

Summer is on the way!

I got out on my good bike this week for the first time since September to get it ready for my first race this weekend. It feels so quick and i havnt even put the good wheels on it yet, still got an old pair of fulcrum 7s on it. Cant wait to get on it in full race trim :p

How do they fit, quite tight and stretchy material?

Measuring up I would only be an L in my current specialised gloves, but trying them on I needed a XXL to get the required finger length.

They are quite tight; I'm normally a medium but sent them back and sized up to a large.

Anyone know when building a bike with internal cables, do you fit the rear mech cable first before installing the crank, or visa versa?

Just picked my R5 up from the workshop had her in yesterday to get the steerer cut, expanding fork bolt fitted and the proper Cervelo headset. Looks so much nicer/cleaner with a flush steerer and feels like it's finally complete :)

They also reindexed the gears and refitted the BB as I noticed a small creak and did everything free of charge a month after the original build. Excellent service :)

Still discussing glasses? The "rules" say:

Rule #36 // Eyewear shall be cycling specific.
No Aviator shades, blueblockers, or clip-on covers for eye glasses.

Rule #37 // The arms of the eyewear shall always be placed over the helmet straps.
No exceptions. This is for various reasons that may or may not matter; it’s just the way it is.

Rule #39 // Never ride without your eyewear.

Weather forecast for southwest tomo is 'Sunny, 12 feels like 11, 4mph winds & no gusts'

4mph winds & no gusts

Can't quite believe it lol

Went on the slow group club run this morning. Highlighted one thing, I need some winter gloves, whats recommended! My hands froze until the sun came up.

Otherwise no problems, shorts, jersey and wind stopper gilet in 4c! Everyone else thought I was mad, they were all covered up with hats too.

what's the temps like over there?

I did a lot and lot of reading about gloves, and I found (and I will be buying for next winter myself) some specialized Sub Zero gloves, they are a two glove system, completely windproof and completely waterproof and very warm

I just bought these, I did the LVIS audax and I wore 3 pairs of gloves which was ridiculous. So I picked up the Sub Zero's after and they're excellent, I've been wearing the inners on their own on my last few rides which are windproof and the outers are waterproof.

Assos winter glove system is where it's at.

They don't make them any more, but you can still get them in the online outlet

Liner, glove and lobster. Not rated as waterproof, but I've had had water in them yet. Also, I'm yet to wear the lobsters as it's not got that cold yet.

I got a day off tomorrow, so I may get a chance to get a small ride, has to be a careful ride, been off riding etc. for the past 2 months due to injury

Riding this afternoon was, as expected, absolute bliss! I only started at Christmas so that was my first warm ride; I could easily get used to it. Roll on some more sunshine and non gale-force gusts!

Got couple of routes planned for the weekend, hopefully the weather will be as nice as it was today, aiming for 130miles over the weekend!

Depends on the frame and the routing.

But it's generally easier without the crank and BB and may even be impossible with them.
