Ive not used those pad, but in the wet you could have road grim on the rims which only really makes a huge difference when its wet, degrease your wheels and give it a try, i had this on my old wheels last year. Its worth a look

It was -2 up here on Sunday.
I was fairly warm (too hot really) but my bottles froze after about an hour :(
Feet were a bit cold. Had 2 pairs of socks on and planetx overshoes. I dont think extra socks help, it just makes my shoes feel even tighter around my feet and restricts blood flow more.

The PlanetX overshoes are rubbish imo. Not remotely windproof nor waterproof.

I'm really not enjoying the weather this winter.

1) Are the stock 105 pads useless in the wet? In dry conditions they are fine, but they feel downright dangerous with any moisture in the air.
2) Any recommendations for a breathable, waterproof top? I have a dhb windslam blade, but unsure if that alone is up to the wet weather.

seem to work very well in wet! :) breaking is still not as good as in dry(for obvious reasons) but they work the best from the tens of pads that I've tried.. plus they're cheap.

I quite like mine.
I have the 'flanders' ones, so they are designed for spring/autumn but they do me fine for most of the winter too. I dont usually feel the cold too bad.
They are not waterproof ones (i didnt know PX did any waterproof overshoes?).

Yeah same here, and yes they were cheap but meh. Not impressed at all.

Fact I'm not impressed by any of that bundle so far, but I'm sure it will be better in spring.

Maybe it's a lot colder where you are... Which bundle did you get? The 4 piece or the 6 piece?

I got the 6 piece and I've been using the overshoes, skull cap, gloves, neck warmer and saddle bag pretty regularly. Admittedly it's not been super cold or super wet, but they're serving me well so far.

I got overshoes, hat (which is decent tbh), arm warmers, and gloves (decent for spring/autumn). I feel the cold worse than most.

Reassessed my FTP today, down from 265 to 238 which is deserved for me being a lazy sod the last few months. Hoping I can get back to those levels in a couple of months.

id be furious if I had to work hard again for 2 months to get it back to the level it was at when you could have spent 2 months on increasing it

That's good news :)

problem is with the other thread is the fact that they don't visit other places like we do , so we have more to talk about lol
I don't see them riding 50 + miles

but we don't ride over dirt, jumps etc either so it balances out.. :D IMO we're just better ;)

so jumping redlights is not the main problem by the looks of it :) having no lights seems to be the issue with cyclists.. odd how a light set can be bought for £2 :|

I've been out a few nights this week. The slow as arse ninjas in black with no lights are everywhere.

I'm always tempted to shout "LIGHTS" at them as I pass them.
