Yeah, paid a top up to the house insurance. Ebike is insured for £2000, DH for £2500, XC for £1500, road bike for £800. Rest of the bikes are covered under the £500 bike limit.

oh that's different, that's house insurance

my mums house insurance wont cover my bikes, she phoned them to make sure :(

I think that the article is mainly suggesting that you can train your body to use its fuel stores more efficiently by doing long rides at a lowish intensity. I know some pros used to do long fasted rides to train their bodies to use fat stores more readily.

We should quote all these into a single ist for next time anyone else asks.

Fine effort.

money well spent :)

Good effort, 18 avg

what was you doing before the fit?

cant wait to take my race bike out to test mine

I must admit I'm the most sceptical person with stuff like this , however I'm pretty sure he picked up on this and he showed me how he knew I was to scrunched upon my bike.
He put everything back to how it was before let me spin out on the turbo and shone a laser on my knees and it showed how my knees were bending out as they had nowhere else to go due to my flexibility or lack of:p:p .

He put it back to his setting there was still a little movement from my left knee but nothing like before. He also put a 120 MM stem on and compared it to my original flipped over told me it was up to me what I thought was best.

He gave me a knowing nod when I said instantly said the 120 MM felt better. I can't recommend them enough, if other bike fits are the same then I would not hesitate to recommend them. He obviously made lots of other adjustments but they are the main ones.

He even gave me advice on how to get the main measurements across to my winter bike.

Are you on the Scionzier side or the Grand Bornand side? Usually stay near La Clusaz when we're in the Alps, lovely part of the world. The Colombiere is a great climb from the Scionzier side but the last km is brutal, steep, totally exposed and just to rub it in, the finish line is in site the whole bleeding way but never seems to get any closer!

Well Id be approaching it from the Grand Bornand side if I went from what will be home, but we'll see. No reason I can't try going around to the Scionzier side, though I've got a lot of learning/training to do for climbing around here.

Just take it steady and you'll be fine! There's a nice run down along the river through Entremont to get to the Scionzier side from Grand Bornand. Follow the D12. Once you're on the other side you can follow the D roads to Cluses and Scionzier. The Grand Bornand side of the Colonbiere is a nice climb too and a bit easier.

The Col des Aravis and Col de la Croix Fry are both great climbs around there too.

Built another Chinese special over the weekend (about my 5th now) this one is pretty cool I think, I wanted a fast comfortable commuter so it has some interesting specs.

* 25mm wide U shaped rims (25/28mm tyres)
* Disc brakes
* Fittings for full mudguards, and full internal cabling
* All carbon so a bit over 7kg so still very light

First commute yesterday and I set some top 10 strava segments beating my bests on a full on road bike, I think the wheels and tyres actually make it roll better over the crappy roads I commute on. Before people start giving me grief like usual about the handlebars, I think I will actually put drops on this one, just need a nice ebay deal on some sram shifters first.

The frame (plus fork) is FLX-FR-602, I got it off aliexpress for £300, as they tend to mark it as $50 so the import duty is quite low.

I also got my carbon disc hub wheels custom made (24/28 spoke, 25mm wide, 38mm deep, 135mm rear axle, 1600grams) from a seller on aliexpress for £280, and they are amazing for the money.

I'm running sram force (apart from the bar shifters) with a fsa slk carbon crank, will be full force once I get a bargain on some force shifters.

Anyone else doing the Devils Challenge 1? Agreed to do it last night and just realised it's only two weekends away!

edit - Link. I'm doing the 83m one, might upgrade my next ride to the 131m one... Link.
