that's crap! how are they going to enforce this? :| who actually told you that you can't change? IMO that's bullying.. imagine commuting on a motorbike? are you not allowed to change from your leathers either?

The MD :/ Unfortunately, I'm the only one that cycles to work. We both made it quite clear are feelings on the matter, basically he's not going to change his mind. I've been sent home in the past to get changed, so they will enforce it if I don't comply.
Like others have said it's a ridiculous company, we're very much treated like school children. We're even forced to use 'secure containers' for our tea/coffee, and we're told when we're allowed to make them.

Wow :/

I'd be out of there in an instant. And I'd also try to ensure that I caused as much hassle for the idiotic MD as possible (as long as I had another job secured of course).

+1 that is quite special :O at my place they encourage people to cycle in and provide all the facilities we need.. not that I use them :) but secure parking is nice.

Yeh, I think you guys are confirming what I already knew. Thanks for the advice guys.

So glad I have the next two days off. I'm doing a short ride with a friend tonight, he's been only holiday for a fortnight so looking forward to that. Tomorrow, I have a ride with a new group I've recently joined, should be 50+ miles again.

My place has a secure car park, showers, lockers... One of these days I'll start making use of them to cycle in, but that'll have to wait until my girls are a bit older and can sort themselves out a bit better in the mornings.

A shot of me from the London Triathlon.

I cornered on the aero bars whenever possible but sometimes I didn't feel safe with all the nodders wobbling about!

My place has facilities but only at one of the three sites. Unfortunately the site I work as doesn't have the facilities.

I can cycle in and get changed at work but I'd be sat stinking all day. I'd want a shower.

There's a guy here who does cycle in... work trousers tucked into his socks with his work shoes on. Looks hilarious.

Where have you got that pic from? There were lots of photographers about so presumably there's sites offering a pic for like £25... My mum couldn't get a decent shot of me, because I'm just so fast (:p) but my mother in law has a sports mode on her camera which takes lots of shots in rapid succession so she may have a couple of me.

It's from the official photographer's site. https://www.marathon-photos.com/

I thought there would be more though as I definitely got photographed on the overpass. As we were a team of 3 we decided splitting the cost would make it a bit more manageable. I wouldn't have bought them for full price if I did a solo tri!

^ Where did you get that from? I see they've posted the results but I can't find any pictures. No email about anything either.

My results:
Age bracket: M35-39
Age position: 335
Swim: 00:36:34
T1: 00:04:46
Cycle: 01:09:44
T2: 00:02:44
Run: 00:48:38
Total time: 02:42:24
Overall position: 1979

Edit: don't worry - saw link...

Whilst we're posting results, I did the olympic on Sunday.

My results:
Age bracket: M30-34 (I'm 29 - assume it's based on birthday in year)
Age position: 60
Swim: 00:28:45 - 833 (Did breaststroke the whole way :(, wetsuit was too tight and I probably should have done some swim training)
T1: 00:04:28 - 1463
Cycle: 01:00:28 - 143
T2: 00:04:29 - 3965 (Lost my rack, some guy knocked my shoes!!!)
Run: 00:38:44 - 187
Total time: 02:16:52
Overall position: 217

Have a nagging feeling I should have done much better though, my background in swimming is strong but I completely neglected to do any training, as a result I found I did the first 100m freestyle before my shoulders ran out of juice, weak upper body. My transitions were also dreadful, but that is down to race experience as much as anything I suspect.

Overall, quite pleased with the time and position. Given that I took up cycling in November and running around May then I think my performance was pretty strong in those disciplines, with time in the pool and experience in the event there's massive room for improvement.

Couple of decent photos on the site, but not vain enough to pay £3 a picture. RIP OFF!

Sorry if it has been posted before but this city bike looks great.

I like the mudguard idea.
I've always wanted to build something similar for my winter bike with a small wheel (skateboard wheel?) running against the tyre rather than their rubber brushes.

Agreed that it sounds like a dire place to work.

However, 2.2 miles isn't far, so don't bust a gut riding in, therefore avoiding turning up all sweaty?
