Get kool stop salmon. Tektro use the same fitments as shimano.

They don't seem to stock the salmon on wiggle?

EBay -; "disco brake pads" the 8 pads for 6.99 + 1.99 del is what you should get! Great pads and epic bang for buck! :)

Able to trust me a link mate? I see lots of different colours and some are 'cartridge only' which I don't think I want (not convinced I can change just my cartridges, never done it before!)

What brakes have you got? We can probably tell you whether they'll take cartridge brakes. Post a pic. Is there a little silver screw on the back of where the brake lad is?

I just demolished:
  • 2 Plums
  • Breburn Apple (my fave!)
  • gluten free bagel (they were cheap...) with chicken tikka filler
  • banana yogurt
  • go ahead apple fruit bake

Came back from the gym today and while watching the ToBeijing I tucked away a quarter of a coffee and walnut cake my missus made  Just kept trimming it up to make it neater ;)

Washed down with a couple of handfuls of trail mix and some hand cooked crisps (cheddar and red onion)

Finally got my Whyte Suffolk.

Couple of q's:

The front disc is touching the pad when free wheeling. Bearing in mind I've done less than 50 metres as I have no lights yet. Will this subside or do I need to adjust the front brake?

On the rear wheel where the rear chain large sprocket is (think this is the correct terminology), there is a plastic circular piece the same size, which sits between the sprocket and the wheel. Is this meant to be there? Because a few of the little clips are broken so it doesn't sit straight. I don't see what it does by being attached. Looking at this pic there isn't one, so I think it's for protection during transit?

the slight rubbing will soon disappear.

the thing behind the cassette is called a pie plate, and is supposed to protect the spokes from the chain

it is COMPLETELY pointless if the derailleur is set up correctly

could you post a pic of your brakes? I assume you have a road bike, so caliper brakes like 90% of the road bikes, if so cartirges are DEAD easy to replace :)

here's a tutorial -;

here are the pads -;

Cheers.

http://www.ukbikesdepot.com/ gave me £180 to use.

What should I be going for, bike is used for commuting and weekend stuff.

All I have is the bike and a helmet.

So I need the following I think?
Lights
Lock
Mudguard
Puncture kit
Tool kit
Gel shorts
Other clothing?

Any recommendations at all?

Your brakes are very likely set up incorrectly. Check out the technical sheets on the TRP website about HY/RDs and make sure that the locking bolt is able to engage.

if your commuting through all seasons ?
then get some waterproof over trousers and a proper winter cycling jacket
best gloves I recommend are specialized sub zero (does what it says on the tin) and either good over shoes or proper winter boots (I don't commute but use winter boots now)

Yup wind this morning was brutal, I got totally kitted up for torrential rain but it slackened off rather than got heavier after I left home...

Which gloves and overshoes do you have? I'm wearing some cheapy Aldi winter gloves that are waterproof for the worse weather, some cheap Sugoi RC10's half fingered (total crap, stay away) and also wear some Alpinestars Aero full fingered I got a couple of days ago... They're great! (wind protection only, no rain.)

For overshoes I'm finding my DHB Neoprene's great so far (had them 2 months). I've had wet feet twice from water coming in from my cleats, a little from around the tops but not through the overshoe.

Wearing my DHB Active Thermals the last two rides and they're AWESOME! Even wore them home last night without waterproofs (with the rain starting half way home) and I still reached home warm and dry! :D

The gloves are http://www.wiggle.co.uk/dhb-amberley-ii-glove/ and the overshoes are http://www.wiggle.co.uk/bbb-hardwear-shoe-covers/ .

Thought this seemed pretty relevant the past few days!

Rule #9 // If you are out riding in bad weather, it means you are a badass. Period.

Fair-weather riding is a luxury reserved for Sunday afternoons and wide boulevards. Those who ride in foul weather – be it cold, wet, or inordinately hot – are members of a special club of riders who, on the morning of a big ride, pull back the curtain to check the weather and, upon seeing rain falling from the skies, allow a wry smile to spread across their face. This is a rider who loves the work.

This arrived last friday :)

Think I'm gonna have to set mine up from now, barely even used the Turbo since having it (probably 2+ years ). Absolutely pitch black by the time I'm home from work already :(

As won't get many miles during the week, might even just put the Turbo skewer on for the winter.

19 miles this evening. Fairly sedate for most of it, though I went out of my way to smash it on this segment and made it up to 6th place. I took the first bend completely on the wrong side of the road, and then at the end of that bend, in a bit of a dip, is a big speed bump, and I had a little worry as I thumped my way over that, but I think my wheels made it OK...

I could maybe climb a couple more places as there's only a second in it.

Cheers, I have a North Face waterproof and breathable jacket, it should do fine till I get a proper cycling one, so I'll concentrate on the rest.

Yes it will be all weather.

As I said recently, cycling cap and knee warmers

Just managed to grab some castelli nanoflex knee warmers off ebay (they look in good condition, he says they are nearly new) for £21 delivered, just hope they are the right size, got for a small this time !

and im watching a cap on ebay that I like, so well see on that in a few days

Strava is not worth dying for.
