Im after a cheap and cheerful turbo trainer, about 50-70 quid mark, anyone any ideas what i can get, theres plenty floating around at that price but ive no idea what makes to even trust at that price.

Cheers,

James.

Bunch ride today, 10% down on power up the cat 3 we do on Tuesdays and my legs are sore now! Need to do more training....

Peak power still over 1200w so that's still there!

Hi all, bit of a noob when it comes to road bikes, picked up my first one before Christmas, a PX Pro Carbon, I basically had a nightmare fitting a trainer tyre on the rear the other week and it got me thinking about if I puncture at the side of the road!! I'm after your advice on some new wheels, ideally up to about £250, your help appreciated.

I suggest better tyre levers, and lots of practice. I have the same bike, stock wheels etc. Removing the original tyre took a bit of time (10mins), as I hadn't done it before, but putting on the trainer tyre took seconds. At what point did you struggle? Are you sure you have gatorskins? My PX came with Continental Ultrasport Wire Bead Tyre.

Spending £250 on a new wheel set, just seems really overkill.

Traffic was horrendous today and as I got closer to work I realised why. Police have closed off a large stretch of road after a collision involving a cyclist :(

Police: Here's a statement from officers on the crash.

A GMP spokesman said: "Motorists are advised to avoid an area of Manchester near to the University following a collision.

"Just after 7.30am on Tuesday 13 January 2015, police were called to Upper Brook Street following reports of a collision involving a cyclist and a Honda Jazz car.

"The cyclist, a man, suffered a serious head injury in the collision and has been taken to the Manchester Royal Infirmary where his condition is described as critical.

"There are currently a number of road closures in place in the Upper Brook Street, Booth Street, Cabot Street and Brunswick Street areas and there is already a heavy build up of traffic so motorists are advised to find alternative routes.

"Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call police on 101"

ShiWarrior - Do you still have the stock tyres on your CAADX? If so, just wondering what sort of PSI you use. I can't find the max PSI listed on the tyre anywhere :/

The max is going to be plenty higher than what you will want them pumped up to. Max is usually around 120psi for a 23c tyre.

Better weather now pls. I should have gone out last night but didn't, and now tonight it's set to snow, Wednesday is set to be hideously windy, Thursday heavy wind and rain, Friday might OK but I want to go out Saturday morning... when it's set for more wind and rain.

STUPID WINTER.

Got my first Cat 4 race of the year this weekend. Only my second one so be interested to see how I get on. Weather doesnt look too bad for the weekend at the moment, but that will probably change nearer the time
