I have no problem throwing apple cores or banana skins but I do try and put them under a bush/hedge or something.

I suppose these people complain when they see apples littering the ground below an apple tree?

those are fine imo, they will be rotting before you take a bite and gone back to earth in a few days lol.

plastic, gel packs etc will be around for what 100 years?

Whilst we're on the topic of littering, what are your opinions on biodegradable waste such as banana skins?

Reason for asking, back in October a group of people walking their dogs spotted me throwing a banana skin into a hedge. I was in the middle of the countryside, no housing nearby. Anywho, they thought it was a plastic bottle, so went absolutely crazy at me. I explained that they were incorrect, but they still considered a banana skin littering and just as bad. I take all waste home now.

I toss my banana skins in to hedges (or anywhere else out of the way) pretty frequently. Something will come along and eat it or it will eventually degrade. Everything else I take home with me and bin.

Makes me rage when I see people littering in the street or our of their cars.

Lost one of the nuts that secures my front wheel on my single speed in the last few days. No idea where it is. Will have to hunt down four new chrome finished ones! Can't have one not matching. But....grrr!!! Annoying.

These people carry the gels in their pocket when the wrapper has stuff in it so why can't they continue carrying an even less bulky empty wrapper after they use it?!?! Absolutely no excuse for littering. Stupid etape thing I done in April was an utter disgrace and people should be ashamed.

I have absolutely no problem chucking banana skins or apple cores into a hedge/field etc. Never in a path or road or anything where people need to walk/drive of course.

Yeah, it's nice outside in the sun..for the three minutes I was able to escape the office to walk around in it.

Probably going to continue to take it easy today and tomorrow. Hoping to do a speedy (18mph+) imperial on Sat.

Speaking of imperial centuries - I absolutely love this route. For the most part entirely on back roads and through beautiful countryside. Getting drenched leaving London was a little grim, but with the sun coming out and the wind we soon dried out. Wind made it more of a challenge than last year when I rode solo, but with 3 other strong riders we could each pull a turn for a mile or two and keep the pace going.

Boy at work just casually taking delivery of some full carbon FFWD F6R's that are essentially brand spanking new.... eBay purchase for £530.

JEL.

Snot/gel wiped off face onto your nice gloves = where does it go via wipe next? Onto your nice bib shorts or jersey? I think not.
Why not? I wipe mine from glove to shorts, as they're washed after nearly every ride. Just make sure you get a black bit so any discolouration doesn't show - one of the reasons I don't wipe on my jersey sleeves like I see others doing. Washes off in the winter (rain) and rubs off in the summer...
I appreciated this picture.:D

One little rainshower in London and it makes the news. Meanwhile the rest of the year everywhere else in the country experiences the same conditions almost weekly and nobody bats an eyelid. Inner M25 pu**ies!;):p

I consider myself entitled more than most to comment on this - as I grew up in the country and am a landowner (360 acres of farm land).

Biodegradable things (fruit/food) I really have no problem with, providing they are in hedgerows and not just thrown in gateways (messy) and into fields (where animals may get poisoned or crops damaged). There are plenty of hedgerow animals/insects that directly benefit from the extra food source.

Obviously the majority of private landowners (farmers) have different opinions because they consider people littering, regardless of the type of litter, a big no-no. It's much easier to say "No!" to everything than to allow some - as more than likely the some will become many and a higher proportion of 'no' items dumped.

You'd be surprised... Have had customers here purchase flowering cherry tree's and complain about the mess the blossom makes...
