If it's was the saddle then wouldn't the sores be in the same place, they seem to shift quite a bit, which makes me think it's more a friction/padding thing.
You're right in thinking they should be in the same place, but I think Paul/Solid's comment about saddle height could be throwing a spanner in the works. With a saddle too high I was rocking more and experienced sores, with shorts and a saddle I had used for many months without any problems. The sores were generally in the same area although did move slightly, but I was using 2 different pads in various shorts which may have caused this. I 'fixed' the problem yet when I wore a couple of older pairs of shorts I got sores once in the same place (may not have fully healed from the first time), yet I also had them in a totally different place I'd never had them anywhere near before. I put this down to the old shorts being a bad fit on me, as the pads were uncomfortable and moved around lots while riding. It hurt!
Absolutely no excuse for littering. Stupid etape thing I done in April was an utter disgrace and people should be ashamed.
Agreed. I make a point on commenting on club rides and I will even pick up other riders rubbish if they refuse to, as I'm carrying mine. Guilt them into it!
Freezing this morning, glorious now. It better not be crap by home time.
Was proper cold winds here this morning too, wore a thermal jersey (slightly over the top) but wasn't hammering it on unfamiliar roads to a training course until 12:30. Short sleeve and armwarmers from there to work and think I'm even going to skip knee & arm warmers this evening! :D

Planning to tackle the wall of Bredwardine hill this evening. Legs are average, but not too fatigued after holiday. Riding solo so planning to really pace myself up it! 30-40rpm in 36*32 agogo! Wish me luck! :o :D

Boy at work just casually taking delivery of some full carbon FFWD F6R's that are essentially brand spanking new.... eBay purchase for £530.

JEL.
Well jel! Would love a set if they were lighter and a bit less money...

Obviously the majority of private landowners (farmers) have different opinions because they consider people littering, regardless of the type of litter, a big no-no. It's much easier to say "No!" to everything than to allow some - as more than likely the some will become many and a higher proportion of 'no' items dumped.

Yet they think nothing of trawling half a field onto the road when coming out of their gates, and gallons of slurry/manure spilled everywhere...

Are rollers much of a muchness? or are there notoriously bad brands/models to avoid?

Quite fancy working on my balance a little as well as having something a little more engaging than the turbo for whenever the wind/rain sabotages a ride. (Space/noise not an issue as I've plenty of room in the garage and several items I can place near by in the early days)

Can't really comment beyond relating an anecdote of my friend's roller experience... He does his turbo time in his kitchen. He borrowed a set of rollers off someone and set them up. He's giving it a go, chugging along, all of a sudden he loses his balance and BANG! he's only gone and put his bike through the oven door.

So tonight on the chainy it was delving into sub 7 degree's... Back into full winter gear of base layer, long finger gloves, arm/leg warmers... It is June isn't it? I haven't completely lost the plot?

Are these two statements/questions as the answer to them is very different.....

I tried a couple of ones with plastic rollers but they where really noisy, they vibrated a bit at speed. Ended up with some with alu rollers and a std steel frame and they have been fine for 6 years now. Only takes a few sessions to get comfy on them, just shove them between 2 chairs or between a door frame while you're learning.

These should be on flash sales at 6pm, not sure how good they are

That's not the argument! Can't really argue with that (apart from - ever tried to clean mud off a tractor?!) ;)

Eeek! Pricey! Did he puncture!? Or is it only FT which punctures frequently on the turbo...? ;)
Awesome, thanks, will have a read at lunchtime! Were you Soreen powered for the whole thing? :)

My 3rd attempt at Bredwardine Hill last night & 3rd failure.

Although my 2nd 'real' one since my first at the end of April. I blew up/ground to a halt in about the same place as the first time I rode it... A section which hits 30%+! I'm a bit lighter but also recovering strength from food poisoning (and a week off the bike) last week, so that could be the reason...

I'm basically hitting my maximum effort and cannot turn the pedals further. My breathing is ragged but I think I can keep that up, do I need to concentrate on power or start doing some VO2 related exercises to increase my lactate threshold? Or is it more likely power related and I need to increase my FTP so I can hit 400W and hold it for more than a minute?

I'm holding 300W @ 50rpm & 180bpm for not even 2 minutes before I pop (according to Strava data). Which does sound low? Current FTP was set at 210 (during winter) and not done any turbo work or a test since. Fairly sure I'd smash 210 now and probably around 220-30. Power curve for the ride shows me at 233W for 20 minutes.

I was chugging along on the flats at ~22mph with various gusts of wind and headwinds for most of the ride, no wonder I cramped up around ~25 miles, need to pace more lol

yeah looks like it, I was coming from the other side so just saw the medics next to the person! gives you chills when you think about it! especially when it's another cyclist.

Horrible but fully expect it's another left hand filterer. Still see loads of them around here, can only imagine what it's like in part of busy London! :(

I'd ignore Strava power data unless you have a power meter. It's been shown to be fairly bad at predicting climb data or short burst data like this. It's ok over a full ride where it can average it all out. Same with using a lot of virtual power data from turbo's and rollers, it's ok on steady state stuff but really poor for burst work. After putting on a PM to my bike I can see that I pop over 400w fairly often just doing things like powering away from lights. Strava never used to show this.

How where you're legs when doing the steep bit? where they maxing out? if they where then a bit more leg power work would be good. Maxing out leg muscles like this can be pretty bad as the larger muscles will overpower the smaller muscles which can lead to things like knee issues. Doing some core work and squats could help.

Yup, agreed with all of this.
