Was meant to be out this morning but it started off raining. Cleared by 10.30am, got myself ready and as i was putting on my leggings my lower back spasmed :( I'm now currently shuffling about my house like an old man!

Went to this APR thing and got put in second group, I did ask for first off as I'm so unfit!

The first drag leaving the place I was going to chuck it as mentally I was quite scared as it was wet in a bunch and my brakes did nothing!

Stayed on to then get dropped a little bit on a further drag, went on someone elses wheel to get back up to the bunch, they decided to switch what side the bunch was pulling off leaving me in no mans last which meant I got dropped again and ended up riding with another guy. He managed to stay in when the next group caught us but I just couldn't hold a wheel :)

Went to turn back at the border but saw two other guys coming so went further with them, headwind into hailstones made my mind up about turning back now rather than being stuck even further from home. Spent £8 in Greggs to get me back home and still couldn't feel my feet after the rest of my warmed up.

Successful day I thought :)

That was ******* horrendous out there today.

I was well and truly pumped. As soon as they stuck me in that group with nothing but cat3/4 guys i knew i was doomed.

Was straight into the red in the first 3 miles, and then into that headwind as soon as i got gapped that was me. No way of getting back on. The scratch group went sailing past me about 5 mins later.

Brian, Nick and Colin all got dropped from my bunch before Muirkirk, so even for the guys that are racing the pace was brutal.

I just went to Muirkirk myself, nearly got blown off the road coming into the town, so just turned there and headed back.

Painful stuff.

That strava has my ride over in it as well, cos i don't known how to reset it properly between rides. :o

I checked the weather for 10-11am and apparently 24-26mph winds with 40mph gusts :|

Should have stayed in my bed haha.

Hopefully I can make it round the Muirkirk one when it's on next as that was a wake up call.

I'm sure you will, no bother.

I'm miles off the pace. Kind of knew i would be - i've probably ridden outside about 5 times this year. Not done anywhere near the same amount of riding i had this time last year for one reason and another.

Popped out to buy pclips so I can fit some mudguards and also to go for lunch. Was planning to go for a longer ride once the weather turned nicer but even though it has become sunny I'm too soaked/cold/etc to feel much like it.

Might stick the BBQ on instead...

Uh oh...! Sounds a bit like when I herniated my back. It's not that is it? Hopefully not. :)

I had a lovely ride this morning that unfortunately ended badly for a friend of mine.

Big bunch from a local club coming the other way, one of them cuts round the blind corner on our side of the road, smashes straight into my mate and breaks his collarbone.

My mate is a cat 2 racer and although he's taking it very well he's still upset about missing some early season races.

That is so poor. One thing some randoms doing it but clubs should know how to ride without endangering other people.

Yep and it was a large bunch so one of them should have shouted keep left or something. Imagine if it was a car or a horse?

I was involved but thankfully not injured.

Hope not. I've had a couple of issues with my back but nothing major. I think its mainly down to lying a bit funny in bed or something that's tweaked it. It should be fine in a couple of days time.

Its more of a pain cos I was wanting to be sorting out part of garden / finally getting round to lining the walls in my bedroom this afternoon but thats been knocked on the head as well

First two outdoors rides of the year for me today () been having a few issues with my knee and ribs over the last couple of months, but all seems to be well now. Took it fairly easy on a 23km yesterday morning, can tell I've not been on the bike a while - was absolutely killer even at a horribly slow pace, aching and tough to sit down :D.

Decided to have another go today and get through the aches/pains, so I just went for a very slow few laps around local park on the cycle paths listening to some Sunday chill music (no cars and generally very quiet, kept it safe!) and avoiding all the dog walkers with their leashes extending over the whole path  but managed another 23km. Hopefully start picking up the pace the more I get back into it and the more fitness I get back. Good to be back on the bike though!

He brings it along and I've seen him take it but I don't really know his dosing schedule or anything like that to be honest. The difference in his riding when it's playing up and isn't is really obvious though.

Tell him to get himself to the doctors. I went to mine a couple of weeks back and told them that my asthma was stopping me getting out on the bike as much as I'd like. They gave me a new inhaler (a green one!) and that seems to sort me out.

Went out on my clubs 'Saturday Social' yesterday which is 50 miles out to Bolton Abbey and back. The pace is advertised as 12-14 mph but in reality it depends on who shows up. Yesterday's was definitely quicker as I got 138 new PRs :D

I'm picking up a new speed/cadence sensor for my bikes. I've currently got just the one fitted to my best bike, but as I will imminently have two other bikes I thought I'd pick up some more sensors. As it is, I found the bontrager interchange sensor, which just attaches with a single elastic band so can easily be shifted from bike to bike. Hopefully that'll simplify things.

I've picked up some extra magnets on eBay, so I can stick one on each pedal and just forget about them. Searching for cadence magnets, they come up costing a few quid each. Searching for neodymium magnets with some numbers for the dimensions and I can get them 5 for £2.60. It's almost like someone can see us cyclists coming with our big wodges of money :D

anyone seen the sram gxp "bolt cap/self ext cap" thingy for sale anywhere? I lost mine.. :/ can't find much online duh!
