Let me know what you think of the Fly6, I've fancied one for a while and probably will when they drop 'cheap' enough! (probably ~£80 for me).

The Lezyne Femto are good lights, lots of guys around here using them - can see them from quite a distance! Not too great for non-direct viewing as they don't bleed sideways much.

Very chilly! 6/7 degrees here, wore my long fingers, arm warmers and knee warmers!

You're single! Nothing to stop you moving to the foot of Ventoux! ;)

Glad you guys had it and not us - which the forecasts got totally wrong. They'd forecast a wet summer but it's been fantastic really! Might just be that I'm comparing it to the seemingly short one we had last year... Winds have been worse this year, many days of fantastic weather only to ruin riding with brutal gusty winds!

I only call it a 'hill' because from the other way it is... 0.2 miles at 4% (kicking upto 9% at the end!) or 0.6 miles at 1.6%! Not many others I can combine into my commute as it's always a pain having few options of crossing the river... I have to go at least 10 miles east or west to include a different bridge when I'm trying to head south!

Ride from saturday was a group ride, surprising how you can get your speed up when trying to keep on a wheel with shelter from the wind! :D

From 1:30 to 2:28 is what i did yesterday.

This video doesnt do the climb justice at all, ill record it sometime, i climbed to the 1:30 a different way, its all part of the cat 2 climb.

Hm, so turns out my front disc brake has been rubbing even with the adjustments moved right out, wheel stops pretty rapidly if you try and turn it by hand. So that's where my power has been going this past week ;) :D

Time for a realignment I think...

It's unlikely your entire caliper moved, I'd just try reseating your wheel in the dropouts first!

Day 2, just done a 3.6 mile ride on my break from work and improved by 50% on yesterdays rides, i could have gone on too but i forgot to take a drink with me. I'll probably do the same tomorrow then go for 5 miles on Thursday. Yea i know it's no 30 miler but i'll get there.

You'll get up to reasonable distance pretty quickly. I'm a 100kg fatty and only started cycling in May and can only ride at weekends due to working away, so not getting much time in. Even with not having done any exercise previously, since May, even I can do 30miles in under 2hours.

Just make sure you don't make it feel a chore and enjoy it. :)

I've gone back to the basics on my bike fit. Have gone down quite a long way on the saddle, I re-checked this KOPS thing and I don't know what I measured incorrectly before but my knee was in fact about 30mm in front of the pedal spindle, not behind it at all, so I've moved the saddle back as far as it will go on that seat post, approx 25mm. It does mean that my stem is now way too long, so it's going to be a pretty stretched out ride tomorrow. This is the only thing I hate about quill stems, because I've got to unwrap one side of the bars and take the brake off. I'm sort of tempted to sling together some spare bars with my stem options before I start taking things apart.

****ed ****ed ****ed.

If you do flybys you can see me get dropped, take the shortcut and get back on, take another shortcut but road steady/hard solo for a few miles, got caught by two guys, wheeled about until we caught another two, wheeled about until I blew again, kept my pace up and the bunch caught me in the last mile or two which I was happy enough with.

I think i'm going to be sick. :(

My heart rate at the point i got dropped in the valley before i chased back onto the bunch is just mental. 187bpm at one point! Last time i was anywhere near that was 4 years ago when i was still a 20 a day smoker and had just got my first bike and tried to ride it up the 20% gradient behind my parents house.

I'm away to collapse now. Or eat. Not sure which....

But KOPS is irrelevant for fitting so shouldn't be what you base your whole setup around...

It's still a starting point and as I understand it you definitely do not want your knees ahead of the pedals for a conventional road bike. I was way too far forwards no matter who's bike fit style you follow.

NOT impressed!!:mad::mad:

Went to head out tonight for a cycle - checked tyre pressures as I normally do and found that my 200 mile old GP4000s rear tyre has started to split and the carcass is showing!!

Tyres came new with the Rose bike so will be emailing them and Continental in the morning to see about getting a new tyre.

Will need to order one in the meantime - had zero issues with GP4 seasons for nearly 3k miles on my CAAD8 - might go back to them for now.

Same one they use for their own builds :) check some of their full builds for specs

Aye I did that after your first reply, had a brainwave :D

Thank you very much!

Okay, I need some wheels! Tyres are gaining flats across the tyre so they might need replacing soon. About 1k miles on them now, May have another 500 in them, lasted longer than my Giants did to be honest.

I were thinking Aksiums at £170 but they've dropped to £117 now, may go for them unless anyone knows a better deal? Budget still £170 plus then I'll need some 4000s ii's.

I can get Aksiums and two GP4000s ii's for £178 delivered.
