Kit looks like it fits fine. You don't want it baggy or bunching up at all if you can help it - amazing how much that can slow you down.

Also, those hilarious Aplecin Shampoo ads may have been the funniest thing during the TdF. So cheesy. :D

This is what happens if you use Alpecin...

Get a CX with guards and discs (winter hack & offroad in 1) then you can sell the MTB and hybrid! ;)

I am considering this TBH. The hybrid was used, abused and neglected for a while and I think it has one more winter in it before it needs some bits replacing.

That could work quite nicely actually but I'm just concerned whether I could get through this https://youtu.be/gszlBPQb0SQ on a CX bike as that is as "off road" as I go. Then again for the once in a blue moon that I get over there I could just rent an MTB.

...or just keep my MTB n+1 and all that :p

Sorry, the above is off topic for this thread :o

It will cope but you won't be able to attack anywhere near as hard. If you enjoy doing that I'd keep the mtb. Cx are great but they're not mountain bikes. You can't attack anywhere near as hard, and they're definitely not anywhere near as comfy.

This. If you like riding offroad a lot, have a mountain bike.

If you want to do some greenlaning and/or enter CX races, get a CX bike

So the hill from Ditchling to Brighton. Christ, it's a killer!

You mean Ditchling Beacon?

It's definitely a kick in the teeth if you've just ridden all the way from London at a fast pace but it has plenty of sections you can catch your breath on.

quoted wrong post durr!

I was saying, the kit does fit fine now, the bib is tight on my shoulders but not anything to worry about. I just hope it doesn't shrink in the wash haha. First impressions though, it seems decent quality for a Chinese import. Only time will tell.

Solo ride today as the mrs went for lunch and shopping so I had a rare pass on a Sunday!

Last day of winter so I headed out on the Tuesday morning ride then forked off down a road I've not been on before. Ended up being hills, lots of hills. Added on an extra cat 3 after 75km to truely destroy my legs, but did it for 101km and 1640m climbing.

I've used my cx bike on a couple of blue routes and Dales off road routes and it's fun as long as it's fairly smooth. Once it gets rough I was reminded how much more fun suspension made mountain biking for me.

I bought some alpecin shampoo during the tdf as a joke. It's actually quite good and has replaced my normal shampoo now :)

Which is funny, because I also bought it as a bit of a joke after seeing the adverts and them being annoying. Turns out it's actually the best shampoo I have ever used and I now swear by it :D Terrible advertising works!!!

What makes a good shampoo a good shampoo? So long as it doesn't make me a target for flies, that's a good shampoo.

Holy thread derailment. Lets get back on track haha. I didn't go for a ride today, grocery shopping, football and bank holiday beer got in the way, the slightly aching thighs helped in that decision too. I'm going out tomorrow instead.
