Yeah think I'm gonna have to try changing the SD card... never used to have an issue but maybe the cards gone bad... though this only ever happens when I'm running a course at the same time.

There's no partial fit file at all for today. I'm gonna run a recovery tool on the SD card and see if it picks anything up.

Managed to find a partial fit file on the Garmin device itself for the first 45 miles though it seems screwed.

Moving time 3:16
Elapsed time 2:39

Time travel! I was only moving for about 2:20

Edit: managed to sort this out but yeah only got the first 45 miles :(

Corsica is lovely, I'd go there!

Ordered a set of the Rapha core bibs, with the 15% off they are pretty cheap so I'll give them a try.

Drove over and did two laps of the masters state road race course, we have to do 4 laps next week.

It's pretty brutal, exposed and hilly. There are two fairly gradual hills but then a couple of hundred meters at the top ramp up in double digits where the splits will be made, especially when riders get tired.

Will be hard to stay out of the wind and you'll have to ride hard up the hills, no hiding there. See what happens but it was worth the trip over.

I don't really get why everybody goes to Majorca. Why not France, or like me, Corsica. The cycling is just as good, if not better.

Convenience and set up. Majorca is easy to get to from so many UK airports direct cheaply.

I really want to go to corsica, where did you get flights from/to? Seems to be a bit lacking.

Manchester to Bastia. The north part of the island is the hilliest and arguably the best for cycling round. We went towards the end of summer so flights were getting fewer at that time. I believe a fair few flights go from Gatwick too, as that's where our bikes got sent by accident on our return flight!!

Nice choice. I'd love to do some riding in California. What have you got planned there? I've got no idea about routes or roads!

Be interested in this too. Thinking about going out next year and doing a week cycling but probably up towards napa way and then couple of weeks holidaying. Got to find someonw who wants to either drive support me or do the cycling part too for company tho ha.

Enter the liege Bastogne liege comp and you'll get sent a code. That 15 is off everything.

Just entered the LBL competition and got 15% off code.

I bought medium, no worries!

Cool. Will give it a try!

Edit: Ah. I had clicked black/cream first and there is no normal sizes for that. When clicking Black afterwards it doesn't update the sizes available.

I used to live out in San Francisco area and I'm so gutted I never got into road cycling back then (only started last July)... some great routes north of the Golden Gate Bridge and up into Napa plus around the mountainous areas of Lake Tahoe etc. I did a few routes while out on a business trip in December - good fun even with the random rain. Bike shop were reluctant to rent me a bike as "I'd definitely fall off in the rain"... It was sketchy on Gatorskins but not too bad!

Been an expensive week it seems, new jersey, loads of pairs of brake pads for all bikes, some cleats, new glasses, some gels.... oh and a new bike! :D

Couple of good rides this weekend, big 80 miler yesterday with a mate, chilly at times, but when the sun was out it was brilliant, then a bit of a smash up this morning to get out and back for LBL. Sun was glorious, but cold northerly wind took the edge off.

My Garmin Virb mount snapped in half this afternoon. Fell off mountain biking - think I leant too much into a burn and it just snapped off camera bouncing down the trail. Unfortunately not on video as memory card had ran out of space 2 minutes before... typical!

It was a happy accident to be honest, my sister has emigrated to San Fran so spending a week with her and then looked at the map and thought San Diego sounds good , warm and its got a big zoo I kid you not! Then I looked at the cycling and looks like there are some brilliant routes.

Couple that stood out on Strava https://www.strava.com/activities/154100753/overview

Bike rental is a bit steep though £280 for the week ouch!If there is interest nearer the time I'll do a proper write up:)
