:D I struggled to find a bad review when they were being looked at in the £125 price bracket so I thought for £50 I wasn't going to get anything much better.

That's what I thought. I also picked up a pair of Bontrager Solstice from my LBS a few weeks ago in a sale at £30. They're a lot better than the endura FS260 which get such a good write up. They're supposed to be entry level but I've done a couple of longish rides in them (100km ish) with no discomfort at all.

Very keen to hear some real world comments on the Rivelo kit. Sportspursuit seem to be the only place selling them - the number of flash sales on the bibs is a bit silly IMO.

problem I have had with many new bib tight & shorts are the rubberised/sticky leg grippers they all seem to have now (eg. santini 365 / santini mig bcool) the padding is comfortable but seem to have limited liefspan since the leg grippers go/perish.
I have not manged to find bib tights with traditional stirrups or bib tights with elastic which had greater lifespan like my previous pearl izumi's ... they are always hand-washed but just do not have the resilience of previous generations ... oh well

Some guy in a bright orange C2 swerved at me on a wet roundabout earlier

He seemed to take offence to me indicating to use the right hand lane and as I went to cross the line into it before entering the roundabout he accelerated and beeped causing me to swerve left. Then when I was on the roundabout he swerved towards me. Got to love sharing the roads with these people...

Been a while since i've been in this thread

What are your guys thoughts on the Fulcrum Racing Quattro's? (the cheap ones)

http://www.wiggle.co.uk/fulcrum-racing-quattro-lg-alloy-clincher-wheelset-2016/

Seems to be a decent set for the price - my current wheels have gone pop and needing a set for the trainer and just local riding and hoping these fit the bill nicely especially for the price..allowing me to get a new cassette etc!

Yeah that is a bit of a concern because IMO an RRP doesn't mean jack unless you've actually sold the product at that price which as far as I can tell hasn't ever happened. I'd do a mini review on them but it would be pointless as all of my kit to date has been dirt cheap stuff. I'm finally at the point where I feel like I have enough options to wear (both road and MTB) so as I replace stuff I can now focus more on quality.

I previously got one of the Rivelo rain jackets etc - it was stunning quality, looked very good, nice sizing. I only returned it after deciding that I wanted a packable jacket instead. That was from Sports pursuit.

OK everyone, TRP aero front brake, specifically the TTV01. There is 3 options here with these utter ********.
1. I am a complete moron.
2. They are goosed.
3. Wizard skills required.

I cannot adjust these to any form of useable state what so ever. Bike is brand new.
I found these instructions - https://www.trpbrakes.com/userfiles/file/TTV-1.pdf

If I align both sides 1mm each side from the rim and then tighten the cable via the anchor bolt, they just go all over the place as soon as I touch the brake lever. No matter how many times I have tightened/loosened the cable and adjusted the tension bolts I always end up with the pads completely clamping the rim so I am at my wits end as I cannot even get remotely close to this being anywhere near useable or safe. Am I being completely dumb and there is a simple way of adjusting these?

The small tension bolts should I unscrew them as much as possible and start? Or tighten both sides as much as possible then start? Any advice much appreciated.

Get everything set so it looks right.

Pull brake lever three times, hard.

Adjust tension screws (turn in on the side that's too close, out on the side that's too far away, not too much, just a turn or two)

Pull brake lever three times, hard.

Rinse and repeat until fade

It's basically a v-brake, and there are tons of articles on setting those up. Pulling the brake lever three times hard "settles" everything after it's been tweaked

English people...

Are your wheels full of water all the time!?

I rode in the rain a few weeks ago.

Still have water coming out the drain holes in the wheels... I thought as you were riding the water would push to the outside of the rim and out the hole. Doesn't seem to be doing that though.

Should've got a bike with disc brakes...
*run away*

I hope you enjoy your time in my bad books sir. Be weary of unexepected death :p

Thanks :) It's essentially what I have been doing :( I am pulling the lever hard a few times between any and all of the adjustments, doesn't settle it at all it seems, just sends it all over the shop. Will just need to keep trying... Until bike is launched out window.

xdcx - check/confirm wheel is square in drop-outs too.

Yeah, done countless times also as part of my elimination process. It's not like I can even get it to the point of being a little bit foul that mis-aligned wheel might be the cause, it's just miles out every single time.

Remember that the two arms are connected, so adjusting one also affects the other, as the cable creates a fixed distance between the tops of the arms, if one moves "away" then the other necessarily has to move "towards". In theory you can do all the adjustment from one side - indeed some cheap v's only have a screw on one side. But where two are available it's always best to do half as much adjustment on each side

Also, if there are three spring holes on the fork, check both arms are using the middle one

I used to get this on my old cheaper wheels but not on my current ones. I'm sure you're not riding cheap wheels of course :p but I guess just some do and some don't.
