I used to get this on my old cheaper wheels but not on my current ones. I'm sure you're not riding cheap wheels of course :p but I guess just some do and some don't.

Maybe it's the tyre not sealing 100% against the rim.

Had it on two different tyres neither budget.

R500 training rim & H plus son rim both do it.

Don't ride my carbon rims in the wet if I can help it!

Move to discs yo..then you can ride then in the rain :p

Sounds like it could be the tyre. Thinking about it, I was running completely different tyres on my older rims whereas I've ran Pro4s fairly consistently for the past couple of years.

It's not me selling.
I am not linking.
I found a set of Vector 2 (dual side) online for a price within the realms of our recent PM discussions on here..... Not sure if Tarty will have a hissy at this post. But I am a rebel.

If you're not selling or linking then...no issues as far as I know :)

xdcx - another possibility is that cable/sheath coming into the brake is applying twist on the brake arms that cannot be counteracted by the brake arm tension screws, because the cable is a bit short (tight radius's), but hopefully not the case on a brand new bike (raising/lowering stem could impact this ?)

Get everything set so it looks right.

Pull brake lever three times, hard.

Adjust tension screws (turn in on the side that's too close, out on the side that's too far away, not too much, just a turn or two)

Pull brake lever three times, hard.

Rinse and repeat until fade

It's basically a v-brake, and there are tons of articles on setting those up. Pulling the brake lever three times hard "settles" everything after it's been tweaked

@xdcx I changed my TRPs for a set of Fouriers but I guess that they work in the same way. I found if I turned the adjustment screws in on both sides (about half way) so both sides are tensioned then screw in the one that is closest to the rim so they are both equidistant the brakes return evenly as there is tension on both sides.

I initially had one side wound out and the other side wound in and although it looked central, it would never return centrally. Also make sure to put a drop of oil down the noodle.

Lethal, know that feeling of being 'squished' with no where to go. Some silly bint on the IOW decided to do something similar except it was a bush not a barrier :p

Out of interest what are you filming on? I've been pondering with a little action cam now there are some pretty compact and reasonably priced options available.

What do other users that film & post parts of their rides here use?

Good ride in this morning.

A chap passed me about 2 miles in, then I caught him at the lights. Then he passed me, then I caught him at the lights. Then he passed me and shot off and turned left at another set of lights while I went straight on. Then I caught him at another set of lights. He was on a geared carbon bike and I was on my single speed steel bike with a pannier on. I guess I didn't pass him as such, but it's still got to worth something so far as knowing your route goes... It also goes to show how disruptive traffic lights can be! No wonder my commute into Manchester used to be such a nightmare.

I unleashed the fury on a short segment near the end of the ride and averaged 25mph for 45s, which on 42*17 equates to a cadence of 130rpm. That took me to 13th on the leaderboard. Not bad for single speed.

Pfft this is nonsense. Don't listen to him. You can run carbons in any weather.

Yep! I was so scared I was going to hit the photographer/a spectator/fall off. There was quite a few moments like this really but that was the worst. A lot of people don't look before changing their line, particularly coming up to roundabouts and on the climbs.

I am using a basic Garmin Virb. I got it for £72 from Sportpursuit (old discontinued model) and it serves me well enough. I've got 2 spare batteries which allowed me to film all of this ride (bar a few sections where I was a bit late to change the battery). Quality isn't gopro level but it's not gopro price either...

I have it mounted under the bars as you can probably tell. It's relatively compact though not that small. I don't fancy the teletubby look of helmet cams. A gopro session would be really small and compact (I believe grudas has one) though battery life won't be much over 1.5 hours (most of my rides exceed that).

Thanks, I'll do some research. Having the ANT+ overlay of cadence, HRM, Power (eventually), speed, incline (if possible) etc on the video is quite appealing.

You can apply the data overlays from any camera using the Garmin software. You just need to provide a GPX and do a bit of by-hand synchronisation of the timing which was actually really easy and intuitive.

Oh - for that I just added it using Garmin Virb Edit software. Grabbed the FIT file from Connect and you sync it by choosing a frame in the video and matching it to a point on the map. You wouldn't even need a Garmin camera or Garmin GPS (can use GPX files) and Virb Edit is free. I believe there are a few other software packages that do this too.

Edit: beaten!

Right, I'm getting an incredibly annoying 'click' on almost every revolution when I pedal... it's not chain rub/noise, my gears are running sweet-as at the moment, it's definitely coming from my shoe/cleat/pedal although there's no obvious signs of where from once I've dismounted :(

I'm using a road spd setup with the yellow cleats. I was going to mess about with the float adjustment later but I didn't know if there was any point? Interestingly, it only sounds like its coming from one side!

Any ideas?
