Repairs last night, thankfully everything was as I'd hoped - rear derailleur cable snapped was at the RD end where it had scuffed along the floor (see damage at cable bolt), pushed a new cable through, hanger isn't bent & RD works perfectly!
Bars look like they took the brunt of the fall (along with me), tape is wrecked but shifter moved back into position ok. Hydro tube is metal at the shifter end, moving the shifter back there doesn't appear to be a bend in the tube, braking was fine after the accident and no leaks. Is there something else I should check? I know it's not a pressurised system but is there anywhere I can check the fluid level? Couldn't see anywhere... Scuffing on shifter is cosmetic, with a big lump taken off the silver front. I know these plastic bits are replaceable on my mechanicals, I assume the same on 685's? Probably won't change them anyway as they'll probably pick up some more 'war wounds' over winter...
Pedal obviously showing damage but functioning ok, my Look's are now almost unbranded!
Overshoes are toasted & shame about the clear lens in my foakleys, anyone got a lens they don't use? I'll swap you a black/smoked one!
Awesome riding mate, thanks for accepting the follow - not sure where you'd lost me!
How are the temperatures and the wind?
We were pretty even time/distance/elevation (for the year) a few weeks ago, that'll soon change with the riding you're doing these couple of weeks!
xdcx & SoliD are leading the way on
my Strava table (below the pro's anyway), both even faster than
Graham Briggs. Ben you're only ~2 mins behind
Troy, if you wanted a target to aim for next time!
All tyres lose traction sometimes. Was this one as worn as your 4 Seasons one you posted a pic of a while back?
Trolololol. No. They've not even done 900 miles, yet!
4 spammy commutes per day right?
4 spammy commutes per day crew whussaaaap!
Found this last week, makes things so much easier!
Going to give it a try. I'm not that fussed about the naming as I tend to do that, just the Commute flag I sometimes miss!
I imagine you'd deal with a club ride a lot better than you think. I was quite worried when I first went out on one but when I did it turned out that the level wasn't quite as extreme as I was expecting
It can all depend on the 'club', my first couple of rides with the 'saturday social' group rides from my local shop club hurt, but I was mostly coming from flat commuting and less distance. They progressed my riding like nothing else and I'd highly recommend it. The social aspect, along with riding with other people (with the same interests) adds a whole new dimension to riding. Really enjoyable & you'll make new friends! Start with a 'newbie' or introductory ride, or ask around to determine how 'serious' the rides/club is.
