What you lot talking about the weather for? Lovely and dry down here, just a bit windy.

Ordered the rest of the di2 now! Hopefully get a chance to set it up at the weekend!

I can officially say I'm giving up on my stock wheelset..

I need a -;

disc wheelset
strong/reliable
6 bolt disc fitment
up to £300

anything worth looking at it?

I've been running fulcrum racing 5 DB for just under a year now and I'm very happy with them! They aren't the lightest wheel but it was a great saving over my stock wheels, they were much stronger and more aero too! I got them in an introductory sale for £229.99!

You also have your hoods on the front wheel :D

Wicked! I found out yesterday you can connect Di2 to your garmin. I'm not really sure why (you get gear ratio, which gear, charge level etc. which could be useful as my junction box is hidden) but it's a gadget, so I now want to do it. Not spent time working out how to do it yet, might do it at work today!

Derp. Cold & clear dry day here today.

Turbo tonight for me, with my 'sore bits' I'm probably going to skip commuting tomorrow as well (at least until the bruising has gone down on my hip, my mobility is around 75/80% today).

Also going to see if rolling my 810 back to version 5.00 fixes it's 'issues', as it'll also wipe/factory reset it (one of the other things I've been meaning to do with it).

Ross, I can't find much info on the 520's screen, but see lots of people with them broken (far more than any other model, could be a design flaw?). Looking at 'teardowns'/repairs of other models they all appear to be made a very similar way. Easy to repair, if able to source the correct screen... :)

Looks easy enough to do, but I may as well just get them to do it for me/ get a new one. For 60euros it's really not worth the 5/10 euros I'd save!

I was looking at doing that to (showing gears on head unit), i think you just need one of the shimano wireless box things(£50) and it plugs in to that cable that goes to the rear mech, then the cable from the box goes to the mech?

Didn't turbo last night, but rolled my 810 back (very easy!)
Wow! That was easy. Downloaded the update file from http://www.gawisp.com/perry/agree.html, renamed it GUPDATE.GCD and copied it to the Garmin folder on the device. Got a message about the version being older than what was already installed when I turned it on, told it to go ahead and overwrite it and IT WORKED! It also erased all user settings but that's not a big deal.
Will turbo tonight for it's first test...! :D

Not sure if they come with Centrelock to a 6 bolt adapter.
Good find, out of stock once you choose any combination but you should be able to find the splines elsewhere.

Good deal & great looking wheels on your cannondale, they are quite 'loud' though, are the decals stickers and can be removed?

Ah, I thought you'd quoted €60 for the repair and £50 for the screen, so around £100 for the total. At €60 I'd say it was well worth it, if you consider a screen €30, tools €10 and time €20 it's a good price! :)

been off the bike for nearly 3 weeks with a niggling injury in my thigh and a holiday. Was hoping a rest would clear up the thigh issue but alas no......off for a visit to the sports physio tonight to see if it's anything serious or not.

Need the D Fly bluetooth adapter, I'll be getting the new inline adapter rather than the older one when it is released.

Serious cleaning. Where are you meant to do it?

Last time round I did it on the lawn and made a hell of a mess! - most of the oils and lubes are biodegradable right

I have all the product just not really sure on the location...

The oils & lubes generally are biodegradable (although to note my 'cheapy' Virosol citrus degreaser /floor cleaner I buy does discolour grass), the things they are cleaning off (mostly road grime) probably are not...!

I usually clean over my patio, previously this was concrete slabs, now it is stone slabs. When washing down/degreasing drivetrain I will usually have a bucket/bowl under the areas (which drip the gravy onto the floor) to aid cleanup afterwards. Anything remaining after hose spraying down slabs (after spraying down bike) I'll use a bit of my degreaser and scrub with a sponge/stiff brush. Not pressurised much (none for bike wash downs) just enough to shift the degreaser foam away to the drain.

If weather is stinky outside I had previously been known to wipe things down inside over an old towel. I stopped doing that after the same brown towel was used to towel dry the dog... (I've got a white Westsie! He looked like a zebra for a couple of weeks) :D:o:eek:

Now I have a garage I'll be wiping down inside there & not too concerned over the mess (but will wipe the worst of it away, there's a drain just outside the back door).

Rubbish! Hope it clears up for you! I've struggled to keep off the bike for the last couple of days, not even 5 days since I came off yet! :o

Hi cycling pals.
I have returned from cycling huff. Who missed me? Nobody? Thought as much!

What have I missed over the past 6 weeks? Has FT been promoted from mod to Foreign Secretary yet? Has Roadie been banned for multi quoting? Shamrock sold up and moved from Rapha to Altura?
OMS and SoliD, did they ever finally get together and live happily ever after?

I have been lifting weights in the gym and cycling very little. Most "cycling" done on a WattBike since my gym got a refurb (they are pretty great by the way). I hate lifting weights though, it is a caveman activity. I deadlifted 40kg on a 15kg bar yesterday and I am now basically a cripple, why do people do this ****? My little bro lifts weights and laughed saying his girlfriend can do double that. He's a ****.
Anyway, coach thinks lifting heavy stuff is necessary and this is all training for early 2017 season. Wants a sub 21:30 10mile early season and to be competitive at Scottish Nats 10mile, he is a nutter but I am fully committed to giving that a bash.

I look forward to re-establishing my presence in this sub.
Shutup with your tutting over there. Bye.

Welcome back. I would probably choose dhb over altura!:p

I've thought about doing weights over the winter (just the compound lifts like deads, squat, bench and o/h press) but the cost of gym memberships in London is extortionate so I guess I'll just stick to intervals on the turbo!

:)
Body weight movement and exercise can be super effective so do not skip it. Work on your core as much as you can without a gym.
Glad you are well though and still training :)
