Gabba 2...

Is anything else worth considering? Looking for something to wear on a 300 miler that goes through the night. Needs to keep me warm when I'm cold and cool when I'm hot, and not get clammy.

Actually we need two different equally good options ideally.

I need the same thing but I don't want to wear a jersey that matches uv's on the day of the ride ;)

Anyone had experience with Wiggle and next day (DPD) delivery?

I ordered at lunch time and it's still on processing. The "contact us" form is broken and apparently they don't really take phone calls. Sigh.

Could it be the merger? I noticed CRC and Wiggle both have similar/identical prices now as they go through with the merger, I wonder if there is a lot of backlog in their system, with maybe taking over the shipping/distribution from CRC?

Edit : I ordered some stuff from Wiggle today and it is still to be processed so I bet that : Sales, Merger, larger demand = the delays sadly.

Possibly, yeah. They seemed able to process my next day delivery fee on time though so I'd like it if they could take a similar approach to the rest of the order process.

Yeah for sure! See my edit :) I ordered at lunch normal mail, it hasn't been processed so hopefully yours is being prioritised as you paid next day.

Ah, yes...missed your edit initially :)

Rather annoying if they don't get it out (even more so if they don't bother contacting me about it). If that's the case I'll be going elsewhere I think.

edit: In stock at Trafford Centre Evans so I guess I'll go there.

edit2: Lol.... Order apparently not processed but I also can't cancel it because it has already been processed. "Checkmate", says Wiggle.

@Derek W - if the cable is frayed just replace it. There's no point trying to adjust it if it's frayed.

Think I've managed to get things 99 per cent sorted. Still a little dodgy going to the big cog and coming down jumps to the smallest but at the moment I think I'll just be turboing it till i get a bit of fitness back then I'll be back on the road to get some miles in. I'll be looking into getting new cables though.

I bet it's just a case of the pickers/warehouse being faster than the automated computer system, I've had orders before that turned up next day before the system knew about it, especially when paying next day.

I imagine they get the order, confirm payment, and box it up priority, ship it then the system gets updated.

Yup, you're probably right. In the meantime though I've looked into alternative arrangements as they've utterly failed to communicate what is going on.

I've raised a cancellation via Paypal. I'm fairly sure you're right and the item will turn up tomorrow but I'm going to cycle down to Evans in the morning and buy them in person - I've already demanded that I get a refund for the next day delivery fee in addition to the item refund should I have to return. I've also uploaded a load of proof of Wiggle ineptitude.

Totally can be awkward when I want to be :p

I guess the rotors may turn up before 9 tomorrow, in which case I'll let the case drop.

Just to add to the above, I wouldn't be this awkward about it if I hadn't bothered to upgrade my delivery. I'd only pay for next day in the event that it's actually urgent so no contact is just.... a bit cack.

Anyhow, bled my hydraulics earlier and the fluid I flushed out was pretty grim. Hopefully they'll be a bit nicer to use once I get the new rotors and pads on there.

I hear you :) I decided to keep my Avids and just replace the internals, I have to rebuild my levers and bleed them this week, guess it'll either go smooth or I'll end up throwing a tantrum and throwing them out the window.

Yep, ordered Friday morning and turned up via DPD at 1:15PM on Saturday. Can't complain for £3.99 for a Saturday delivery, which is what most companies charge for a standard 2-3 day Mon-Fri.

So I've now got a "your order has been dispatched" email and my order shows as processed today on the site. With an expected delivery date of today. Sounds dodgy to me and their CS forms still all crash out. I've tried dropping their Twitter account a message but don't hold out much hope.

Shower time in a sec then off to Evans in the sun with my slightly dubious brakes.

Weather is really quite nice but I've been ill the last two days... hope it clears soon! I blame Wales and its wet, misty, windy weather during Saturday's MTB ride :(

@Roady: You were asking about local(ish) MTB the other week? Based on the weekend I'd suggest Forest of Dean for an easier ride and Afan if you don't mind likely bad weather and very rocky with lots of obstacles. I did the major trail at Afan (W2) which was about 45km. A fair amount of long climbing in that and quite technical. Sunday morning the weather was looking the same for Afan so we took a gamble and visited Forest of Dean (I'm pretty sure as soon we crossed the border from Wales to England the weather went from misty rain to sun!). Very nice trail centre, only did the blue and the red trails but they were enough and good fun.. certainly worth a visit as it's not far from you.

It looked like the roads around there would be good fun on a road bike too! Saw a group of road cyclists on a long climb up that we can only wish for over here...
