Planning to do an Everest ride on Zwift. 8848m in one ride, same climb :)
wow - good luck with that.
The highest elevation is up to the mast through the village which is about 518 meters. Doing it once per ride is enough but 18 times ?!?!?

That's about 10.2 hours at my pace - 34mins per climb.

Not for me. I've got a BIG indoor ride planned.

That's a lot of calories, have you done calorie calculations? You're going to need about 26 whole Domino pizzas (or if you don't like Pizza then perhaps a liquidised Walrus or two).

From looking at the rides of other people who have done, theirs calculated at around 9000-10,000 calories.

It's much easier to eat regularly and drink properly when on a static bike for obvious reasons.

Should take over 12 hours too!! But yep, about 20 climbs of the Epic KOM is what I have planned. Assuming it is the Watopia route tomorrow! Sod's law it'll be Richmond lol!!

I'll make sure I set the challenge @Roady! There's even an achievement in Zwift for everesting!

EDIT: Bummer! It's London course! Damn. Maybe Box Hill, or the new hill then.

EDIT 2: Just rad you can 'hack' the settings to force a particular course.

Lol-WOT.

You will not burn 50,000+ calories Everesting, maybe close to around 1/4 of that depending on actual powerout :o 26 slices might see you through mind depending on our zone distribution... :p

(220w avg for 12 hours would equate to 9,600 calories, plus your standard BMR / non-cycling TDEE on top)

I pulled the 26 slices out the air BennyC - it was just in jest - I applied precisely 0% science, did the walrus comment not give it away? :D

Nope. Think I'm going to bail soon only just passed halfway and there's no way I can repeat what I've already done.

Next time maybe. Might even get a second wind!

Maybe it's time for a ~30min break, demolishing a whole pack of Jelly Babies? ;)

14k of climbing up Epic KOM is still heck of an achievement, especially if that amount of climbing is way beyond your normal training levels.

Hate to say it, you're better off using the world hack so you can climb the pretzel (if you didn't?). Much higher VAM!

FYI : The Mad March Hare has been postponed - no doubt to your delight :p

Hardly surprising the adverse conditions, although they should've really announced earlier, let people change their plans with more notice!

The rest of the pizza was for the rest of us watching/supporting? :D

Supreme effort regardless! Stats/screenshot? :D

Should've rescheduled it so other riders in the same world, would help loads for motivation and you'd be surprised how many others would join you for a few reps!

Going to drag my trainer indoors later and ride if I have time... A snow day off work has yet to materialise this week to get a ride in, fingers crossed for tomorrow! ;)

11 repeats of the Epic KOM. Man it was tough even to do that. I got back in the country yesterday so I maybe it wasn't the best idea to do it today.

I think I also went a bit too hard. My average speed was over 13mph. Most people who have done it averaged nearer 10-11mph. I tried to stick to a religious 200W on the climbs though.

I think I also ate too much when I had a quick break, didn't really recover after feeling a bit crap after that. Still.....made it more than halfway. Next time.....
