Road Cycling

Don't know about you guys but I'm a massive fanny when it gets bellow 10c but I also prefer riding outside if the skies are blue and it's not raining.

I'm too cheap to buy dedicated winter shoes but even with my thicker winter socks and overshoe my toes still get cold. Yesterday in Aldi they had lambs wool shoe inserts for £3. Decided to give them a go today and have to say even with regular socks (would be too hard to wear them in the shoe with thicker socks) and an overshoe my toes remained really warm for the hour I was out.

Feels a bit weird at first but got used to it quickly. Could be worth a try
Although £3 isn't a lot, it's even cheaper to just not be a massive fanny... :p

10c seems quite a high threshold to me. I start wondering about Zwift at around 0c or 1c. Today was 4c as I set out, but with blue skies and sunshine. It was actually a really nice morning.

**EDIT** Tbf, I've spent A LOT more than £3 on winter gear which makes this possible.

~18 and I feel that's the perfect point of not being cold but not being so hot that there isn't a cooling breeze

As I said, massive fanny!
18c is a nice temperature for sure!

I used to struggle above 26c in the uk, just too humid and you'd end up in a sweaty mess.

current temps are perfect for me but the rain, wind and so on is not great. Keep meaning to get out but just no time..

so I've been riding around on my new argon18 for a while now, bought it at sigmasports. It has always had a bit of "movement" from somewhere when on brakes, felt like a few mm of "nothing" before the pads/brakes grabbed. Was very obvious when standing still and holding the brake but I couldn't figure out where it came from. Well, today I had another look and the rear disk was held by pads/caliper but hub would move a few mm forwards and backwards, so who ever did the pre-delivery inspection at sigma left the centerlock ring below torque spec, which allowed the disk it self to move a little, not much but enough to be noticeable. Bit annoying, lucky enough this old park-tool BB tool I had fitted that centre lock spot on and I was able to just nudge it a bit tighter and that movement is now gone. Surprised it left their workshop like that but then again, the headset/fork was a bit loose too and had a bit of movement...

Probably being a bit facetious with the 10 degrees but under 5 and I’m bloody frozen!

Under 5 is getting quite nippy to be fair. I think it was 6 degrees when I was out last Thursday. Had some "spring/autumn" bibs, wool socks, long sleeved jersey, thermal gilet and a rain jacket over the top along with some alright gloves and by the end of the ride (1:10) my toes were starting to feel it a little and my fingers were feeling a chill. Rest of me was fine though.

Need to get some better gloves and either use my hardcore overshoes or at least get some toe covers.

Glad to hear you are still getting out on the bike though mate. Know you were struggling for motivation there for a bit.
