Road rage

I find it especially satisfying to hear the views of members of the board who I held a little respect for but have since lost it (Dmpoole) clearly they live in a different world and do not regularly go out on a Saturday night and get yelled at point blank in their ear

Hey, why are you having a go at me?
I'm on your side and I would have peeped him and thrown a w****r sign.
What I can't understand is how you couldn't catch a fat man who ran away from you!!!
You have a go at his size but he was quicker than you.

And yes, I regulary get yelled at on a friday & saturday night.
I have about 200 people shouting 'You fat b*****d' at me which is not funny.

Erm... Yes, it was your fault, as it would have been if you went round a blind bend or through a blind dip. You shouldn't round a bend or crest a hill at such speed that you couldn't evade something in your path.

This is dumb, clearly he did evade him or that fatman would have been on his bonnet. Just because he could evade him, doesn't mean it was "fine" for him to be jaywalking.

As a grammar nazi you should realise the difference between the "I pulled over" and "I knocked over".

:p

So in summary:

Man crossed road in front of you, you flash lights, he gives you the finger, you honk the horn, man continues to cross the road and successfully reaches the other side, you drive home and post your great victory on the internet.

Cool story.

I once also honked my horn at a fat person.

You had me agreeing until you said that cyclists have more of a right to be on the road as vehicles... Under what reasoning do they have more right to be on the road?

I mean than a lot of other road vehicles that don't have valid insurance/tax/mot. Bicycles don't require it legally, motors do and many motors don't have it meaning a cyclist has more right to be there than them.

Equal if your motor is legally on the road.

Roll a dice. If you get 4-6 go to page 117, if you get 1-3, go to page 228.

That brings back memories! I played quite a few of those, although the only title that resurfaces from my memory after so long is "The Warlock of Firetop Mountain".

I would open the window and say 'u mad fatty?' and watch as he comes at me like an angry, waddling penguin. At this point you dangle a donut out of the window to distract him and slowly drive off, watching in the distance as his stumbling mass of blubber comes crashing down to earth after the sudden rush of excitement seemingly causes him to forget that he can walk. You then turn around, drive back and admire the crater you helped create.

lol at getting out of the car because he flipped you.

Next time you'll get chinned for your troubles. Count yourself lucky fatty didn't have the athleticism to school you and your rage :p

I believe he wanted to run away from me, because

a) He was scared of what I would do to him

b) He was scared of what the police would have to say about the matter

I like to think by the speed of his departure and my accompanying insults that it could have easily been any one of you trolls running scared of a guy 5 stone lighter. XD

And if you are in any doubt, yes I would have defended myself and I am confident he was justified in running scared.

what would the police say about the matter?

what would the police say about the matter?

At most they would tell the driver that he was driving without due care/attention for the road conditions.

Realistically they would tell you to go away and stop wasting their time.

Cyclists have the same, if not more of a right to be on the road as you. No such thing as road tax, it's called vehicle emissions duty or something like that and is ranked by the emissions caused by the vehicle. A bike causes none so why should they pay? As for insurance, I have that but it's not essential. It only cost around £50 and got it mainly encase my bike is stolen.

That is how it is collected yes but not how it is supposed to be used. Cars pre 2001 are done on engine size and cars pre 1973~ don't pay any. The tax collected by these cars however is meant to be used for our transport network. (Even though most of it isn't) Emissions has got nothing really at all to do with the tax. It's just there for the government to fudge a way to get more money compared to the old method. If your car is used on the ROAD you have to pay the tax. If it is not used on a public ROAD. You do not have to pay the tax.

When enough people get Band A cars the government will then change the taxation system to something else. Like pay Band A for people using goodyear and band K for people using linglong.

I put on my robe and wizards hat.
I cast level 10 eroticism and turn him into a beautiful woman

Then I go and slap her for being a stupid whore

have you ever even read the highway code?

Yes I have and would you follow it seeing the way people drive? No

What the Highway code says and what happens in the real world is different. A person in a car is surrounded by metal. A pedestrian is a meat bag on legs. I know which one I rather be.

That doesn't change the legalities of who has right of way.

That doesn't change the legalities of who has right of way.

Legalities of "right of way" do not exist in that context, EVERYONE has a right of way on public road. What you are referring to is Priority, and who should you give way to.

It is a requirement of the higheway code that ALL road users including pedestrians show consideration to others, Pedestrians should use the pavement where present, or, where none present, use the road walking towards oncoming traffic so as to be able to take avoiding action.

Now sure, the OP should be ready to avoid the person in the road, and he was, he is also within his rights to use his horn to notify said person of his presence if the person has not yet been alerted (ie he is walking on the wrong side of the road).

Now if the said person was using the blind side of a hill to CROSS the road, he has clearly not picked a safe place to cross, and again warrant s a reminder of his stupidity as at the end of the day, EVERYONE should regard everyone else as an idiot on the road, and no matter how much flesh he possesed it is gonna come off worse against a vehicle.

Final point, stopping and "bullying" the pedestrian (for that was what it seemed was intended) is far worse than any road crimes he may or may not have been guilty of.

Summation: OP tried to make out he was cool for calling out a pedestrian for giving him the v's and ended up looking like a male chicken.
