Robbed

Be on guard, they may be back.

When we got robbed, they came back a month later, presumably to steal all the insurance replacements as well, but we had installed an alarm by then and they ran off without anything the second time.

its nearly always teenagers when the only things taken are what 2-3 people can carry.

adult burglars usually steal a car.

i grew up in a rough area , half the people i knew where the type to rob houses.

not walker or west end by any chance :D

as said, least you have your health, worst time of year the ****** though!

At this time of year houses are best for robbing. Cars are hard to shift and what's better than a load of brand new goods straight out of the shop? With all people wanting bargains atm it's easy for robbers to get rid of the stuff.

If the house isn't alarmed and secure, you'd better get it done quickly as there's a good chance they'll be back if they left that lot.

A couple of LCD TVs and a Wii is hardly a rarity in a house these days - some houses even have decent consoles in them. :p

But seriously Phil W, I wouldn't really worry about a repeat burglary based on those goods, especially if you improve your security and the apparently obvious design/installation fault in the rear door which obviously you will do.

Gutted for you Phil. :(

i live in the west end about 5minutes walk from the flatts on westgate road ;) cant say ive ever had a problem with the locals though most are foul mouthed tramps but they never give me any bother and i dont see any youths hanging around the streets.

thats not where i grew up though ive only lived here for 10 years , i grew up in nottingham on an estate with really high car crime and burglary rates so i know a fair bit about the types who commit those offences.

i myself have 2 motor vehicle related offences on my criminal record (from when i was around 15 years old im now 28 and have kept a clean record since)

if you saw me you would never imagine me to be the type of person to have ever been arrested in my life or to have known the type of people i grew up with.

Had my place last year robbed and trashed a few days before Xmas and it really does hit you hard. I hope you can still have a good Christmas despite it.

Sorry to hear. There are some seriously shameless ****s about. Come on, stealing kids presents. I do wonder what kind of a person would do that.

We all feel absolutely gutted and violated to a degree, its horrible knowing someones been in your home, sifting through your things.

Absolutely sympathise, I've been robbed before and it's not nice even if nothing valuable got stolen. Far worse that it's happened so close to Christmas. Hopefully the police will catch the scum.
