Rockclimbing!!

Hi there

I'm a boulderer, live in sheffield so lots of access to climbing and bouldering. Hardest i've done is v6 i believe only started again around 2 months ago but climbed on the peaks few times 5-6 years ago.

now i go to places like the works and get some indor action but i really like the man made boudlers in the parks we have here in sheffield, fun in the sun.
 
Has anybody here been to Fontainebleu? Hopefully going there for 4-5 days at the end of September!

Also hoping to hit up Pembroke this weekend.

Where are these man made ones :p didnt know there was any in sheffield might go take a look if its local enough
 
Couldn't scrape together the funds for Font, but managed to spend a weekend in Swanage and a weekend in the Peak. :)
 
Yeah we did one day of sport in the quarried area and a day of trad on the sea cliffs. Did my first bit of abseiling which is quite scary when you go backwards over the cliff edge!
 
Thought I would introduce myself on this thread.

I have been climbing on off now for around 5/6 years. don't even know what grade i'm hoverying around any more. Probably haven't had a full days climbing in over a year now and i'm thinking it's about time when winter sets in a bit to get out on the grit.

I'm based in North Yorkshire at the moment so there is no excuse to get some days in really. I went to Scugdale for a few hours the other weekend before being chased off by the insects. I haven't seemed to of lost my climbing head for highball or solo'ing the stuff up there ( Although it is pretty easy climbing). The same weekend I went to Harrogate climbing wall, and I have definately lost my strength and stamina for overhanging sport routes :( . Hopefully I can get to the wall once a week or so for some extra training.

Lets hope the weather improves :)

Spent Sat afternoon on a windy tor not bouldering! Just didn't feel like it, must have done 3 V0 problems and that was it! Was in my belay jacket more than rock shoes!
 
Got the first bits of gear for my rack.:cool:

Starting with the basics required for sport climbing. Haven't done any trad leading yet, but will just use my mate's rack when I do. Building a rack for trad is very expensive!:(
 
For the sling draws I'd put a bit of tape at one end so you always use the same end on the pro. If not you'll score both krabs which isn't good for the rope when it runs over.
Tape will also identify your kit, pop down to pound land and get some electrical tape.
 
Just need to get outside and use the kit now! I think me and my flatmate are considering Pembroke in the next few weeks if the weather is decent.

I've never been before, but he says it's one of his fave climbing spots in all the UK.
