Rockefeller: Internet is “Number One National Hazard”

Wonder if you'd have classed it the same way if it was someone else on a video camera, reading from a news release from a non MSM media source.

That would depend on who they were and what they were saying.

I posted this because of the complete rubbish coming out of that guys mouth. Its amazing people like him can get away with saying this.

Can you be more specific? BTW, is he a Stalinist?

It'll come. Internet2 will arrive, and will be the mainstream.

The Internet as we know it will become the defacto for underground groups, hackers, Cyberpunks and Blade Runners.

While I can accept that the internet will become more and more like big brother in the future, I can't take what they are saying as true, when they Have incentives like "Tania will have sex with every virgin who defends the internet"

Jcb33.

No it wouldnt and you know it.

Every time you post something in counter to an alternative opinion you always quote MSM or Wiki. Why should independent news sources be less "credible" then ones with an agenda?

Can you be more specific?
He cites a dubious figure of three million cyber “attacks” launched against the Department of Defense every day. “Everybody is attacked, anybody can do it. People say, well it’s China and Russia, but there could be some kid in Latvia doing the same thing.”

Rockefeller’s comments reveal an astounding degree of ignorance – or if not ignorance, outright propaganda. Since the September 11, 2001, attacks the government has cranked up the fear quotient in regard to cyber attacks and so-called cyber terrorism, a virtually non-existent threat except in the minds security experts and politicians. In the years since the attacks, not one real instance of real cyberterrorism has been recorded.

BTW, is he a Stalinist?
Oh your a funny.

They're not crap, they're just misguided, and, in this case a rehash of another thread posted 90 minutes ago about the exact same topic. Oh, and it's also a cross-post.

Given the responses these threads always get (without fail), I also think they might be heading towards trolling (deliberate fishing for a response).

Firstly, please can you keep all this stuff in one place, and secondly, think before posting. Perhaps, instead of spouting someone else's work, say what you think.

PS - hate to say this, but old news. Internet censorship in various forms (some more obvious than others) has been going on for years. In the UK, we have the lovely "cleanfeed". They even saw fit to censor Wikipedia at one point. That was a complete foul-up given that they didn't actually censor the thing that was supposed to be illegal. I have no doubt at all that there will be repeats of this sort of incident.

So Sen. Rockefeller claims the internet is very dangerous. I guess its time we turn it off, obviously this has nothing to do with the fact that there is freedom of speech on the internet.

I'm guessing this thread will be locked along with my other about this. I guess breaking the rules has nothing to do with the rules stated in the FAQ.

its only dangerous when a) people dont understand it b)when want to hide documents.

Actually i expressed why i put it in 2 places, i feel that is acceptable.

The other thread i posted was in regard to a certain person saying a certain thing about something different to this topic. Please re read both posts before trying to troll.

The reason these threads head to trolling is people like you coming in with the "LOLZ" attitude.

I never claimed my OP to be my own work, i just felt it didnt look very good in [ quotes ]
