sky sports news say he got onto the united bus in cruches so surley if it was broken he would go straight to hospital?maybe just a bad sprain?

Yeah he got onto the bus on crutches, he was moving gingerly but not screaming his head off. Can they do much for a metatarsal at hospital if that's what it was though? About the only thing they could do would be plaster that and maybe they don't want to rush in before a scan?

He would have gone to hospital if they thought it might be broken surely? Even if just to get an X-ray. Joe Cole has said the injury isn't serious. Hopefully he is right.

That's what I was thinking, if it's broken it will swell up like a **** and you will have to go to the hospital right away, so it could possibly be a bad bruising or whatever.

Sky sports, he was saying he went away on cruches and that he will be checked on Sunday.

Its going to be a ligament or a sprain.

If its not a bad sprain, he will be ok, if he has ruptured a ligament you arnt even supposed to kick a ball for 2 months.

Although when i ruptured my ankle ligaments i played the next weekend, although i had to play left footed.
Which was really gay.

Rooney will be alrite...

nothing to worry about... i just thought it was a break in his foot at first.. was pretty shocked at first.. but with him not going to hospital and rumours saying it isnt as bad i think it is alrite

I recokn he will be ok as he hasnt even gone to hospital, but all this **** about no chnace of winning world cup without his is ... well ****. Crouch is a good player, as is defoe, owen should be fit. England have a world class team, with world class players, and world class cover in every position (except GK). Im not saying we wouldnt miss him, and god I hope he's ok, but I wouldent write us off because of it.

The mind set wont be there without rooney though.

he is one of them players that makes every other player feel better.... so without him it will just be a negative feel with the team... and us supporting.. it will be a big let down mentally

Gutted, what a rubbish few days for England :(

I can only hope he can make some sort of freak recovery in about 5 weeks or so, if I were Sven I'd be tempted to put his name on the team sheet and sacrifice another squad player, just in case.

Hope to God Owen is ok, think Terry should be fine with rest.

yeh.. he has 7/8weeks to be ok...

could be up to 6 weeks so he will be fine.. its just the first game he will play will be the worry... but i suppose we could leave him out for the first group game... am sure we can do well in the groups games... barring sweden

lol.. aye.. opps counted to calender wrong.

ah well.. still i will remain 99% optimistic.... how come we always get a big injury.

am sure he will cope.. we can leave him out of the first group game
