Rooney has just been stretchered off. OH NOOO

1st game 10 June he's got 5 and a bit weeks to play in that which i dont think is feasable but the Sweden game aint until 20th june, you got to take him no 2 ways about that, but i think we'llget out of the group without him and then you're looking 24th 25th hell be fit by then, i could get fit in 2 month and i smoke 20 a day

not too optimistic myself, how long has Owen taken and im pretty sure it was longer than 6 weeks for Beckham in the last world cup (and he still wasn't fully fit)

rooney is just a "fracture" so far

Im trying to inspire optimism .... lol.. rooney will make it for the last group game at least.

cant go without him... even if he wont be able to play until after the group games.. albeit we make it that far.. which we will

a fracture and a break are the same thing mate. They are both classed as a displacement of the bone.

The media etc will usualy class a Break as when the bone has fully moved, bit like the cisse and totty ones, and a fracture where theres no significant movment. But at the end of the day they are both breaks just that a with a fracture there is usualy no ligament damage to go along with it.

its a pretty sorry state of affairs when your main hope of winning the world cup relies on one player, but unfortunatley its true

and i really cant see him making it to the world cup, and if he does, hes going to be rushed and not 100% or he's just gonna go do some damage to his foot again. And even if he is fit, he wont be on top of his game cause hes gonna come straight from physio to the pitch, totally out of match practise.

I think they'd be sensible if hes not looking good a couple of weeks before to settle for the fact he wont play and concentrate on who will replace him. But i know that wont be the case, Sven will be waiting on him every moment of the world cup, and thats going to cause some problems

The say there is very little chance of him making the world cup. Which is very upsetting for him and me :(
Practically no chance, he was out for over 2 months with the same injury last time, as was Beckham, as was Gerrard and Owen's has taken 4 months to recover. No one (high profile that is) has came back and played after just 6 weeks.
So even if he did recover in around 2 months, there would be no chance for him to be able to play 2-3 times a week as you would have to in a World Cup.

long as we have 11 players on the pitch we have a chance,we have plenty of other strikers that can play just maybe not as good as rooney, even so just means other players like gerrard, beckham ect have to raise there game.

dont write england off befor we even play the first game

typical this like... its really funny how its the worst case scenario just happening in front of us...

and it happens to england... ronaldinho will never miss a world cup... some higher being really doesnt want us to win it :p

ill try and remain positive... there are chances that players can come back earlier than expected... i think rooney will do this.

as for replacements... who... darren bent?

its not that we dont have strikers that cant score, we do, owen has proven that over and over again. Crouch can score, Defoe we have plenty...thats not the problem. Its the fact that none of them can hold the ball like rooney can, rooney has the ability to stay on the ball if hes stuck with no support and wait for people to get upfield, and from that create something. Also he can create something out of nothing, he hasnt got skill like ronaldinhio but hes strong on the ball and can go on amazing runs (good example of that was against chelsea today). And lastly, not only can he score plenty, he sets up just as many

And quite frankly there just isnt another player in the england squad that can do all that week in week out on the big stage

My heart says he'll make it, but i cant see it somehow, its just too short a time to recover

Dont get him playing :p

Gutted for Rooney. First the Euro's and now this. I hope hes fit in time. Colleen better had be careful with him :D

Ive got high hopes for him to be back fully training 5 weeks from now.

So, do the England camp include him in the squad? Suppose to be submitted May 15th or some time around then. He better had be included. Just in case.

high possibility owen is out too now. His injury isnt confirmed as completely healed.
Pretty much a worse case senario, this. owen and rooney out?
