It's all about Carters Root Beer

A&W, Barq's or Mug, but that Carters crap that Sainsburys sell tastes like artificial sweetener. It's disgusting.

I got hooked on root beer when I was living in Canada, A&W and Mug come to mind.. very nice drinks!

Ones from the supermarket here don't really compare imo.

Waitrose/Ocado also do Bundaburg root beer - lovely stuff! A bit pricey however I bought a bundle back when they had it at half price

You can get expensive bottles in supermarkets (about £1.80 for 330ml). I've tried various brands over the years but nothing beats the old Fanta Root Beer they used to do in McDonald's so many years ago...

I liked that one as well, McDonald's that is.

Makes me want some right now. Man, now I'm thirsty.

Anyone remember the bubble gum from the 80's that smelled like germolene. You got 2 fake tattoos of smiley faces with it that you could lick then stick on your arm etc,or your mates forehead lol.Think it was called dubble bubble or something.Damn i miss the 80's,either that or my youth.

A&W Barqs and Mug are the best. Drank absolutely gallons of the stuff while in the states recently. Even had some from a brewery over there that was famed for it. A quick google shows you can get your own brew kits over here.....tempting!

i aren't a big fan of root beer but if anyone wants me to grab one and let you know what its like i will let you know, have tried A&W,Barq's,MUG.

also if anyone is wanting it from leeds they sell it in chinese supermarket bottom of grand arcade (A&W's one)

i have never tasted it, but if its like that stuff, then i am not going to try, sounds horrible

It's not the same, as it's a lot sweeter and has other tastes. But wintergreen has a distinct taste.

yeah was on the soft drinks aisle, but it had a seperate section only a small section what said 'specialty pop/soda'

like i said though the store near me (kirkstall) is a flagship store so we tend to get everything before anyone else!

Personally I go with a similarity to Deep Heat. My dad once bought us a bottle of Sasparilla cordial thinking it was Vimto, was an acquired taste. Pretty much the same as root beer?
