If he does get it i can see Hamilton leaving purely because the car will have been jinxed. Well, Alonso'ed.
 
I think they should consider Button. It would be a less volatile relationship with Button/Ham than Ros/Ham, and Button would still be able to deliver.

I don't think they would want Alonso/Hamilton as it would be explosive.
 
Shocked to hear Nico has retired, would have thought that he would at least attempted to def nf his championship but I suppose he knew that this year he was extremely lucky to to win it. I mean after all the crying he did the past 2 yrs when Hamilton was spanking his ass left right centre, I imagine Mercedes had to give him the championship to shut him up lol.

Meh good riddance to him, never liked the guy as all he did was cry about things not going his way.

Don't think racing will miss him but had it been Hamilton retiring then it would have been felt.

Good luck to him in whatever he does next.

agree that Merc should avoid having 2 big egos on the team; however I don't think Button likes Lewis, especially after Lewis almost shunted him off the straight in Canada when they were McLaren teammates

that said it would be better for Button to go out on high after the Honda/McLaren nightmare. pretty sure McLaren wouldn't stand in Button's way to move to Merc
 
It would be great for Button to have one last hurrah before he sails off into the sunset. Hamilton is not bothered by being number 1 just believe he felt something wasn't right with only his failures this season(and rightly so)

Makes for an interesting dilemma as this could start the merry go round of seats we haven't seen this year.
