Rosie Jones

Shocked that there is only one mention of Chappelle in this thread. He is just… sensational. Nobody even comes close to how good he is.

Unfortunately all British comedians, and any other comedian really, just seem ‘basic’ or douchey in comparison.

Chappelle’s recent 15 minute SNL monologue was super hot fire - free to watch on YouTube, warning for language though.

Aisling Bea, Katherine Ryan, Kathy Burke, Roisan Conaty, The 'what drew you to the millioniare magician' women cant remember her name right now. Aubry Plazza but she is just a bit mental. There are more but I would need to see pictures.
Oh gosh no. Aisling is fine on panel shows tbh, Katherine Ryan has never been funny. I don't tbh know whom Kathy Burke is. Roisan conaty isn't funny either at all tbh. Aubry Plazza is alright but I have only seen her in movies not as a stand up so no idea on that side.

Chappel is a complete douche. Literwally hate every single thing I've seen of him on YT and end up changing to something else.

Stewart Lee does a bit on Dave Chapelle in his recent flakesnow tour as well. He covers all the stand up comedians....... Chapelle........... all the stand up comedians. *Two* rotisserie chickens!

Kathy Burke is a legend. Harry Enfield show, Kevin & Perry go large, Linda in Gimme Gimme Gimme. Bloody fine serious actress too.

I've tried watching this becaues I want her to do well.

It's just hard to watch as the delivery is too slow. I know she cant help that but (good) comedy is delivered quickly otherwise its generally ruined.

Comedians such as Michael McIntyre, Jimmy Carr, Kevin Bridges, Alan Carr, Frankie Boyle, Joe Lycett all deliver quickly so the jokes roll on from each other and tell a story. That doesnt work if its slowed down to 0.25 speed... Maybe its just not my style
meh, i didn't find it funny.
The audience were patronisingly enthusiastic.

I hate myself for saying this buuut I dont know if she is funny because I get bored before she get to the punchline and turn over. Yes I know it's not her fault, it isn't mine either.

The only comedian that has actually really made me sore laughing is Billy Connolly, his "Audience with" is one of my all time favourites although it has probably aged badly now.

Billy Connolly on his audience with was great but yes, I expect its aged a bit now.

Kevin Bridges on live at the Apollo was fantastic. I could watch him all day, some of his jokes had me crying with laughter. I fell off the sofa when I first watched one of his performances.

They should do a head to head roast. Rosie Jones vs Frankie Boyle. That I would watch!

My parents went to see Frankie Boyle live a few years ago, even they said parts were OTT and received some negative audience response

Don't find him funny either but anyone who buys tickets to go see him surely know what he's about?

Yep not particuarly sure why but I tried to watch Equa-nimity but I got bored within the first few mins and all the shorts of his stuff on YT shorts is pretty meh I have found.

Went to see Al Murray and Kevn Bridges which were both great though in my view.

I would suggest giving him another go and watching his Netflix specials in the order of release.

If I was to suggest and particular ‘bit’ of his, the recent SNL piece I mentioned is good, but I’d also suggest his 8ish minute section on R. Kelly and Michael Jackson (which you can find on YouTube). There is a particular bit regarding Macaulay Culkin where he floors the audience… and then immediately follows it up with an even better joke. It’s just a masterpiece of setup and delivery.

Eh, really?! Well, each to their own I guess…

He's literally one of the best comedians around right now, there's a reason why he and Gervais still have big Netflix specials despite causing outcry among the fully woke, they're still democrats/liberals and they'll bring in the viewers and ratings despite the ranting of the vocal minority.
