Wow thats a pretty competitive package deal.

Balls in Powerstations court I guess?

It is a very good deal I have to say. I don't think PS would match it, I also think we need to get other places people have mentioned to give quotes too as we don't just need the best deal, but the best location too. All well and good having somewhere in Southampton doing runs for £20 each and giving a free BBQ but the Northern folk wouldn't attend.

Looks like I will be moving to within 15 mins drive of Powerstation in the next few months, and now the location might be changed! Ah well!

I vote for powerstation! ;)

That's good  3 runs and more monitoring! I assume the 'turbo' additional monitoring would apply for a supercharged car also? I'm curious how theyr'e gonna monitor for det without bolting something to the engine block though unless I'm missing something :D

And biscuits

I'm down with the Eurospec idea \o/

Confused, if this doesn't go ahead as the "main" RR event and you want to organise a "sub-event" down here then that'll be cool too?

Right, I've had a reply back from Eurospec, the details are as follows:

So - for the same price as Powerstation, each car gets 3 runs (rather than just the one), food & drink, and they actually check the basic condition of the cars first, rather than just "drive on, run once, drive off".

Also, for turbo'd cars, the advantage of having proper monitoring equipment set up!

I am thinking of also booking a RR day for my own club, so if I incorporated that into a "block booking" of days, I could make it cheaper for us (OcUK) to have RR day(s) by utilising my other club/forum into the booking.

Any thoughts? Sound like a good idea?

Sounds excellent - I'm in!

Sounds like a good deal to me, last RR I went to was just two cars, turned up had free drinks/snacks and ran the cars a couple of times, that was £40. They pumped the tires up to a set PSI to calculate the losses fairly I believe.

Its a little far South for anyone who lives past Birmingham and personally I dont really see the point in running the car 3 times unless you have a turbo/supercharged car and want to run low/high boost setups.

Might just turn into a load of standard cars running 3 times and returning the same figure 3 times...?

You're more likely to know it's the correct figure if it's run 3 times, as opposed to only once, when any number of random variables could occur.

I don't want to rush into anything before some others have contacted the other companies suggested, so will give them a few days to get some more info, then we can make the decision :)

Some southern people have gone up to the Manchester Meets, so some of the Northern guys can come south for the day! ;)

At the end of the day, those that want to come will come no matter where it is, those that won't, won't! ;)

If I'm organising it, I'd also like to try to get deposits from people, as that'd be a better incentive for people to not drop out at the last minute, too ;)

It's a good deal, I'd probably come down for that, it's a fair way for me, but not as far as the New Forest meet we did. As Fox said though, I don't think most of us actually care that much about the RR anymore, we could just start doing pub meet-ups in the Midlands, the Hungry Horse was always good, something like that perhaps, dunno.

I was talking to the jessies in the North who dared post 'it's just too far'. An excellent plan it to utilize Premier Inn's £29 a night offer. Book well in advance, drive down the day before stay over and be completed refreshed for the next day.

True, I know there's quite a few 'newer' people here who'd like to run their cars, or people with new cars and/or mods etc. But we'll see what the other RRs a bit further north can come up with. Deposit idea is definitely for the best, too
