People at this end of the market are far less likely to overpay or they would already have a better GPU.
If people at this end of the market were able and willing to buy a better GPU they wouldn't be at this end of the market

This is sort of why I'm happy to downgrade to the RTX 3050 (in so far as it is a downgrade, things like latest HDMI are actually quite appealing). Recent upgrade to 2nd hand RTX 2060 just isn't getting pushed.Same boat here. My kids play Fortnite, Rocket League, Roblox and Minecraft. A 1030 runs all those fine at 1080p.

I thought about upgrading my oldest son's gtx 1050 ti but for now he isn't playing demanding games, and shows no sign of wanting to (plus it's an old Dell workstation that I adapted for gaming and the PSU lack graphics card connectors so installing anything with high power demands might be a lot of faff). My younger son is quite happy with the onboard graphics on the family laptop (which aren't too bad, it's a Ryzen 5500u with whatever Radeon thing it has going). In this case I figure it's probably better to wait out the current GPU market nonsense and hopefully upgrade in future if and when they really want it.
Believe me it wont last long, my two have already gone from Gaming laptops with GTX 960's and 1050ti when they were 4/5yrs, to 2060/2060 Super to 3060ti and one is 9 and one is 12. My youngest has the 2060 Super from my 12 year old and already mentioned a few times he wants a 3xxx series.

For the most part the games I was playing ran fine on my GTX 970 and I don't spend that much time playing, but do like turning on all the eye candy and would usually prioritise that over frame rate or even resolution sometimes. I have a 4k TV but I'm slightly short sighted and can't tell the difference between 1080p and 4k at my typical sitting distance (from the sofa 720p will do TBH). I rarely use the TV for gaming. My monitor is 1920x1200. Both top out at 60hz.

Edit: So when I have time my old graphics cards are likely to be given a go on the MM, with the aim of getting back what I paid (happens to be about CEX voucher prices). Not yet though. I'm a bit busy.
When was this?
What thread?Yesterday about 4.30pm with a link in the GPU sub forum

My card never shipped, probably oversold.
Not sure my weak mind can wait in perpetuity for stock. Probably cancel and play the FE lottery some more
or get an RX 6600....
Yeah, there is always that option
I just have to get something for the 17th of Feb so I can melt my brains playing WH3 for 20 hours a day
