Definitely. I did it for 20 years and am so glad to have it behind me now. Some/most customers can actually be a pleasure to deal with (and those usually end up with best result) but every now and then you get that one that just has unreasonable expectations and treats you like you personally have tried to inflict the issue upon them. This is why I could never work front of house or as customer support.
Typical of people today, expect everything to be handed to them on a plate with no effort on their part. Now he/she has gone off in a huff never to be seen again because nobody agreed with them. It's pathetic really, but you can't help someone who isn't willing to help themselves. What I would have done if it were me was firstly, fix it myself. If I didn't know how I would find out how to by doing some research just like I have done in the past. If I still couldn't fix it then I would contact the retailer and try their suggested fixes then if it still doesn't work go through a return which is covered by the warranty. I guess that's far too much effort in this case and they would rather bin/not use a two grand pc. How sad!!
I also wondered if this was the case. Doing so little to fix it, saying they'd sooner throw it away than open it up, because they'd break something...Sneaky feeling OP is just some competitor trying to throw shade at OCUK tbh.
It'll cost a bit. It'll also maybe need some time off work to have it collected, if it was packaged well.
I'd be asking customer support what the options were, as I'm sure they will come up with a solution, and perhaps OcUK can organise the courier. Maybe they wouldn't be so nice given the attitude of the thread.![]()
What warranty comes with my system?
Our standard warranty is a full three-year Collect & Return warranty including parts and labour. Be sure to keep the box in the event of a fault. If a faulty part is no longer in stock or available, we will contact you. Please note this warranty is not available outside of the UK.
We also offer a labour free upgrade service should you wish to upgrade your PC during the warranty period. During the collect and return period we will arrange everything at no cost to you (UK Mainland only). We will pick up your system, repair and test it, then ship it back to you. Systems are usually fixed and shipped out within 72 hours of receipt at OcUK (can be longer during busy times). If you are outside the UK Mainland, you will be responsible for returning the system to OcUK.
Surprised its been allowed for as long as it has.I don't think it's a genuine post.
All great advice. But unfortunately, the issue here is not just a technical oneI have built many many machines and sometimes, the most stupid little issue can cause huge issues.
When you have bought one from somewhere like OCUK then you will surely know, that it is absolutely quite possible, and quite likely that the issue you are having might be something as simple as that it has had a knock in transit.
What this can do, is sometimes move a stick of RAM or a card, or even a cable slightly so that its not fitting in 100% perfectly.
This can, make something move a tiny tiny bit when the system warms up and that might cause it to crash randomly.
You might have installed something that is not 100% happy with a certain other thing and that might be the problem? - Unlikely but not impossible.
But to scream out about your PC is not going to magically fix it.
Where are you? Bexhill? Is that the one near Hastings? Thats only about 300 miles from me... Since your thinking of dumping it, I can happily pop round and take it off your hands!

Yes, i deal with PEBCAK issues daily. This is textbook illiteracy. All great advice. But unfortunately, the issue here is not just a technical one![]()
