Does the DPD live GPS tracking only apply to some parcels?

I had something delivered last week and it give me the live whereabouts of the van on a map. Today it's not, just gives me an hour time slot but no live tracking.

There could have been a million reasons why he was late. 99% of them would have been ultimately out of his control. It's also fairly likely you weren't the first to complain or make some comment about it. It's just not worth your effort complaining about these sorts of things to the driver, what exactly did you hope to achieve? It's not like he would turn around and say "Oh sorry your highness, here's my mobile number. Let me know when you've next got a delivery and I'll make sure it's there on the dot and I'll even do a little dance for you upon receipt". I mean really, what did you think would happen?

If you're really ****ed off about it, what I usually do is remember that he's a delivery driver and you're not (presumably). Same goes for a crappy waiter, bank clerk, shop assistant etc. Anyone that annoys you. If they had better interpersonal skills then perhaps they wouldn't be doing that job would they? Sounds harsh, and I don't say it out-loud, but it's probably true and helps control the rage a bit.

Lol at everyone siding with the courier. Unbelievable. :D

Whats unbelievable is that you think your attitude was acceptable, and that the couriers response was surprising.

And that everyone on here must be wrong and you must be right.

It does say a lot about someone when literally everyone disagrees with them and then they dismiss everyone else's opinion and cling to their own.

You opened with a passive aggressive comment, his response was unprofessional but in-line with it. Perhaps you could have worded it differently and avoided all of this altogether?

The fact that he turned up late is better than not turning up at all? Likewise, they gave you a later slot and turned up within that later slot, so are you annoyed that they didn't inform you of the change or the fact that you had to stay in?

LOL at the folk who think it's OK to rant at the courier because you pay his wages.

I suppose you go to work and allow your customers to rant at you too because they pay your wages?

Guess not.

Nothing winds people up more than the comment "I pay your wages"
My wife worked on the front desk in few police stations around Birmingham for quite a few years & the number of smart arsed comments she heard, that was the one used most often.

Best of it was most of the "customers" she was dealing with we're either unemployed or general dossers, so no actually you aren't paying her wages! :D

Late I can take.

Only time I ever had an issue with DPD was when the delivery driver drove past and didnt even bother stopping when I had paid extra for saturday delivery.

To make it even worse their 'sorry we couldnt get access to your property' photo that gets uploaded shows me sat in my car waiting for him, taken from the main road at 30mph as he goes past.
