Rugby union?

I'm guessing everyone is coq-a-hoop at the prospect of the Ford Farrell partnership this weekend.

edit: it doesn't like the other spelling
Could be interesting. Whilst not looking dominant England aren't looking too bad relative to the other teams. I'd say Ireland are the only ones that look very hard to beat. Australia are just terrible, New Zealand are good but seem to have lapses and some missed passes unusually for them. SA need to get their kicking sorted. The French are still either brilliant or average, flip a coin to see which team turns up!

This weekend is the one to try it, we need to see how it works compared to the other setups Borthwick has tried in the tournament so far. It clearly has worked historically, it was the go to approach Eddit Jones used in the dominant run England had a few years back that included (from memory) smashing New Zealand in the semifinals last world cup.
I like having 2 playmaking backs on the pitch, but I don't think 10/12 is the way to go. I'd rather someone with more pace in the centre. Although defensively he's able to put in some legwork and big hits (tackle technique aside...)
I think I prefer the 10/15 combo, Ford/Farrell at 10, Smith at 15. Seems to be the way the other top teams are going. Pushes Steward out of the starting 15, but hopefully that motivates him to be less of a one trick pony with the high ball. I've seen a few youtubers suggesting he should be tried in some different positions, not sure how well it would work, but could be interesting.
Disapointing to not see Arundell in the squad this weekend.

England will probably grind out a late win here as Samoa tire but geez Louise what a dismal effort so far.

Wouldn't even 100% guarantee this lot will beat Fiji so they can get their hiding in the Semi finals.

Third go after 2 failed scrums and 5 mins on the clock. BRAIN DEAD. Take the 3 and get back on it.

I swear England have to be the the dumbest rugby team in international rugby and have been for a decade.

edit: AT LAST that should have been the outcome of the first scrum

edit: just to be clear my annoyance was that England tried to control the scrum when all it needed was the ball out with a 1 man overlap. You see the All Blacks and the scrum is a restart they get it out as fast as possible.

Out of interest, you boys rather play Fiji or Australia next week?
At the moment Australia are terrible but so are we. I can see Fiji beating us. My wife is South African and she was disgusted that England won, I was just laughing saying we're used to rubbish wins  I had to agree though Samoa deserved a win, their speed onto the breakdown reminded me of old school NZ.

For better or worse we need a massive reset. Even if we stuff the 6 nation's for the next few years it should be worth it eventually.

Smith is awesome but England play a different game. We either need to change to our talent or choose younger players who fit the system. Everyone involved is getting too old.
