Rugby union?

Farrell has had his time. With apologies he will only depreciate. If England want to stick to the same plan they need to find a younger crew who can play in this way. Personally I'd rather back a dynamic team, build it around Marcus and go from there. No interest from the coaches though...

There was a very unreal suggestion that 60K of the fans in the stad could be Irish, which i can only assume all the locals resold their tickets for $$
The SA game seemed so surreal with the fans singing Zombie at the end, almost like it was a home game.

I can't see anyone other than France beating this Irish team atm.

As a Scot disappointed but on the other hand Ireland are very, very good and I won't be surprised if they finally break their duck and get past the quarter finals.

I don't even think we were that bad tonight it was just that Ireland took their chances and were much more clinical that we were able to be.

I think it shows though that while we talk about Tier 1 and Tier 2, there's really 3 tiers - The current Top 4 in the World (Ireland, France, NZ and South Africa) and then a Second tier of the teams ranked 5th - 10th and then tier 3 beyond that.
Scotland sit 5th in the World Rankings and I'm fairly confident we could win against any of the teams below us, of the top 4 its really only France that we seem to give a good game to.

Obviously annoyed the World Cup is over for us but we knew 3 years ago when the pool was drawn that we would need to beat either the defending World Champs or an Irish Team that I think we can officially say are now our nemesis!

It's mad how bad the draw looks at this point. I mean, just look at the Quarter Finals stage:

France vs South Africa
Ireland vs New Zealand
Wales vs the winner of Argentina/Japan
England vs (probably) Fiji

These should be some exciting games. But the Semi Finals are likely to be quite one-sided. It's difficult to see how the final is anything other than the winner of Ireland vs New Zealand playing the winner of France vs South Africa.

How dare you discount the mighty England  Ah username checks out, carry on ;)

It is a bit off that the 4 best teams play each other in the Quarter Finals and the 4 weakest teams play each other.

Should England reach the Semi's or heavens forbid the Final it will give an uttelry false impression of their ability.
