Rugby union?

Rassie making some interesting calls for the NZ game. Starting with Sacha and Fassie hints to an attacking game plan - back line has some serious pace. Going to be a test of depth with 5 of our usual locks injured.

South Africa once again showing depth, we definitely have the best 23, though not always the best 15. Sasha is growing into the role of superstar, just needs to reign it in at times. He could become a once in generation player if he keeps improving. Some interesting referee calls, not sure how Bongi's try was given, and how on earth Cane was not sent of for breaking Kolisi's jaw.

Rugby is properly an all year game now. Tomorrow is the final of the South African rugby season for the Currie Cup with the Lions playing the Sharks. It is also the start of the United Rugby Championship with Sharks playing the Lions.

Well I'll take last nights Bristol win even if that first half was dire :p really hoping Newcastle have gotten better and it wasn't Bristol just being ****

That Australia NZ game though, what a wild adventure! New Zealand looking like they had it sown up 20 minutes into the game, by the end I was desperate for an Australian win

I think Manie Libbok's international career is essentially over. With Sasha injured he may get another game, but I can't see him being trusted for the future.

Not sure if anyone here is aware, you can sign up to https://www.therugbynetwork.com/ using a USA VPN for £6.99 a month, or $70 for a year. I managed to pay using my Revolut card. It's essentially a 1080p TNT Sport stream, and you need a VPN active during playback. Significantly cheaper than TNT Sports if you don't watch any other sports on there. You also get other content on there.

Looks like another close season this year. Quins season ticket holder here. Really hope we come good! Struggling to close out games at the moment.

Hoping for some young talent to shine tomorrow! Missing a lot of the first team this week!

Sarries vs tigers was some game today!

They underperformed in the league finishing 7th but a 1/4 final in the champions cup was pretty good last season.

From my limited knowledge there do not seem to be many outstanding transfers in for this season.

Went to Kingsholm on Saturday for the first time in a while with the wife, nice weather, few beverages, a home win, had a decent time and saw some people I'd not seen since pre-covid. No way would I fork out what they want for a season ticket though.

Half season showing as £190, not sure what the full season is but I remember looking if I include my wife and boy it was about £1000 a year for all. He's not 3 yet so probably wouldn't enjoy it too much, and my wife is away some weekends working. When he's older I'll probably go again but it's still a decent chunk of money. A pint of Guiness is also nearly £7!

If we want decent seats then it's much more money. The prices have risen significantly over the past 10 years and many people I used to go with just go to the local rugby clubs and watch it there on TNT.

We paid £60 for Saturday for two Shed tickets.

£190 for half a season doesn't sound too bad? Although again dependant on where you are in the stadium. The half season ticket I bought for Bristol last season was £140 for seats behind the posts iirc. £1000 for a family season ticket does sound very high though!

That's for the Shed, no seats.

They're pretty coy about previous prices and listing full prices on their site. They also changed their ticketing system so all history was lost. I think it might have been more than £1000 for all 3 in the Shed. But then I think it's the second most expensive place here.

I go to the odd game here and there and I don't feel like I'm missing out by not having a season ticket. I held one from ~2015 until the pandemic. When games started up again we asked for a few games credit as my wife was pregnant and there was higher risk in the third trimester and they flat out refused with zero empathy. I'm been far less willing to spend money with them since then!

So autumn internationals starts on Saturday with a quite tasty one - England V New Zealand. Marler stirring the pot by tweeting (X-ing?) the haka should be scrapped before deleting tweet and deactivating his account. New Zealand are as vulnerable as they have ever been but not sure if England will pull their game together in time.
South Africa coming with full squad (barring injuries) which is a surprise. Will be good to see what Ox Nche can do against the home nations. He has been one of the standout players this year. Machine in the scrums and thunderous with the ball. If he is not on the short list for player of the year then no prop will ever make it. I had earlier posted that Libbock's SA career was over with loss to Argentina, then he plays the game of his life in return fixture, though he did not place kick. It leaves SA with a puzzle, how to play him and a placekicker, especially as Willemse is injured.
