Just looking at some posts in the PC Games section on here, and realize some people play Runescape.

I've played for about 7 years now, do many others play that are on OcUK?

The game is a lot better. However due to its age and such its saturated at the higher level. The economy is also mental due to rampant RWT and Botting. most high levels are 500m+ rich. Many many with 1b+ and just as many with 10b+ (an unheard of amount a year or 2 back) games going to hell imo.
 
It's not too bad... The economy is... interesting... but nowhere near as bad as people are making out...

Yes with trade coming back things have inflated, but everythings inflated.. It's still not hard to get rich fast if you learn how to do boss hunting, and for those kind of high end players (which frankly it would take a couple of months to become if you play right) then the botters don't really affect you...

I play it still from time to time when I'm bored, the only thing that really puts me off is the grinding aspect...

boss hunting is fairly crap cash. everything is easy to buy atm except the nex gear. So nex is good cash but you need trusted 6 man teams of maxed players in maxed gear for that. Sure bandos is an easy boss to solo even at lower levels but because the game is saturated with end game players. you cant get a world solo or team unless you're a maxed player in maxed gear. I know this because i am one :/ Iv played the game a lot and i only play now and then because iv always played. But i wouldnt recommended it anymore to others. Unless they completely fix botting.
 
I played this many years ago, sunk a lot of hours into it! I remember saving cash for ages to get an Abysall whip which was about 30 million. I made a new account as a pure with 0 defence and 85 magic and ranged, used to go pk'ing with a clan :D

Good times. I imagine its changed a lot since then.
 
Tryed to log on and i haven't played in 6 months and noticed my account got hacked and someone has been playing on it for the last 5 months with a renewal membership and it got a small ban for RWT wich ends in a few days plus the guy has gotten my range from 70-95 lol! Only had like 20m on it but i would give that for that range level so its all good if theres nothing on it now or whatnot =D getting the urge to play again tho =P
 
whips aren't considered great? The game has changed a lot then.... I played from the runescape original days until a few months after the whip was released. At the time I was level 95 or something with all skills pretty high and had done every quest but one
 
lol no its an ok training wep and pking wep cos its cheap, as a boss hunting wep you might as well take a bronze dagger as you wont outhit that 138 in tova, cls, divine/d defender switch ovl etc etc...
 
Everything after the barrows and whip release have been terrible. The damage done is so high it makes pvp a farce.

It's a huge waste of time and you regret the hours you put in when you see purely botted accounts with similiar or higher stats than yourself.

I'm so glad I stopped playing when I did. It used to be a great game.
 
I think Classic's at about 8... Might be wrong, but sounds about right... lost track of it now.

As I've already said though, the bots really don't affect the majority of users... Unless you're trying to chin hunt, or something like that you shouldn't have a problem.

Whilst admitedly Nex makes the most money out of bosses, other bosses hardly don't make you a reasonable amount, that most people could cope with.. TD Solo's, Corp group in particular come to mind. It's not like the people that do this are poor, or have low levels. If you're aiming to be super super rich, then yeah you might struggle, but it's hardly like you need to be to enjoy the game. I know plenty of 138's who are more than happy to TD/Corp. It's not about being the best, it's simply about getting some kind of enjoyment out of it.

I used to play it when I was 13 and absolutely loved it. The best way to make money was runecrafting, i used to run a team who I paid to bring me essence and I'd craft the runes. Made millions, course you need millions to start with so it's not really a get rich quick scheme but it is a get ludicrasely rich quick scheme when you have 20/30 people running backwards and forwards bringing you essence and you give them 1.2k per trip they make ;). In a couple of hours they made about 60-100k depending on the ques. Wish I still had my account, I think it's been deleted because its so old and I gave all my moneys away :(.
 
runecrafting isnt the money it used to be. as king mentioned bosses can be good money. its getting worlds as an unmaxed player that is hard (ie a world thats free or you can crash) and even as a maxed player its tricky because you need to be able to outhit the other guy which means maxed gear as well. Im just saying you cant relaxed and do some boss unting solos. Or teams without it being stressful lol. Bots are getting very advanced too. I mostly do slayer. and there are a lot of bots slaying even. Iv even heard there are now low level dungeoneering bots. Fishing wcing or any of those gather skills and any common low to mid level combat training areas are packed with bots too. Dont even think about killing frost drags for cash. sometimes 3-4 bots per dragon spawn. same with blue and green dragons....

try it for your self. its not like it costs. get a months sub. play it. if you get back into stay if not, leave.

Its great money when you are on double nats/deaths/bloods

500k+ GP an hour I got 99 RC

currently killing frost drags tho, gettin 1.5Mill an hour.
 
double nats are poor. deaths are currently the best and can net you 1m an hour, bloods not far behind deaths.

Frosts are excellent cash just really hard to compete with the bots. Its insane that double nats have fallen as low as they have, The reason is the mile long line of bots but i guess that means everyone can now bot alching to 99 mage nice and easy lol.

RSN mason? i'd tell you mine but you might look at my runecrafting level and i dont want to kill someone of laughter.


there is btw, always staking and merching. the gamblers loose billions. the wise ones win billions ;)
