Rust - multiplayer survival from the creator of Garry's Mod

Just to add - checked and unable to connect either, apparently some ulink DOS attacks not specifically to this server but rust as a whole.

So after some investigating it appears that the servers are receiving DDOS attacks. Not the usual, send loads of traffic at a server until it chokes and can’t take any more ddos attack. It kind of seems like someone is periodically grabbing the server list and attacking any occupied server with a bunch of empty packets.

We use a networking library called uLink. It works well for us. We can get 300 people on a single server. We’re happy. But it is not without its issues. I get the feeling that it’s not that widely used – so there’s a lot of relatively simple exploits that haven’t been found. We’ve reported issues. A lot. But always seem to receive the same responses. Basically – it’s going to be fixed in the future, in an update that is planned for the next month, that never really gets released.
 
is our HG server down just now? Cant see it and net.connect doesnt work - Edit: "incompatible version".. server update needed maybe?

As long as we don't get w aipe! Some people on the forums are saying their servers are wiped.

If you want to build your metal house next to mine I can show you the spot.
 
Tried a different server - was going great and built a house near a radtown and a 9mm pistol - until I found a car and thought "wheeeyy, I can get in the car".

Don't try it.

I fell through the map, unable to type in chat or control my character, no option to kill myself except to wait for the 1900 food I had to deplete and die of hunger. To make this worse, the car was comfy which meant hunger depleted slower than normal. Argh.

Anyone know how to fix this? cba to wait 2 hours to die of hunger =/.
 
Our server is up and running - if for some reason it's been wiped from your history do the following :

press f1 in-game and paste net.connect "78.46.17.104:28035"

hit F1 to get up console and type suicide then enter - kills you instantly
 
the official servers are getting ddos attacks consantly i just lost about 4hours worth of farming equipment. my own fault but i was trying too build a new house

so many things need implimenting in the game

a map
ability too suiside or something similar
more rock spawns x100000
easier friend options add/msg
easier too see if holding a gun or rock or hatchet
 
Had a good hour or so playing earlier - some prat decided to climb in through my bedroom window so he died fairly quickly. Would've let him in if he'd knocked - don't usually shoot on sight xD.

Server appears to be having trouble again now though - won't let me interact with anything.
