Rust - multiplayer survival from the creator of Garry's Mod

It's still being played loads, no idea how or why you think it has died.

Last time I played it was on the old legacy rust build, it was being overrun with hackers, got fed up of constantly having my base raided and being killed by them.

Friend got me playing last weekend, not seen one hacker, game looks beautiful, really busy servers and overall a much better game than before.

The way in which people die though is a little weird but still!

we got a server up now. it does really look nice. i was one of the harshest critics of this game. now it really is fun to play.

well worth trying if you haven't played for a while.
 
Rented my own server after trying many servers and getting raided by a bunch of twits every time even on low pop servers. I have no problem raiding bases when they are done but when you dont even have half the walls up it gets tedious.

Hi read your post earlier this morning and I play on ! [UK} PvE MaxEVERYTHING 24/7 Free Gifts, admins there is a few willing to help out , very friendly PVE I have being on.

siege ingame btw siege [ UK North, Co Durham ] is steam with a dino pic in profile.

DG does this server have all the added **** all over the screen? Went on a few and damn they just added so much rubbish I instantly logged off and didn't bother. I like the x5 looting and things like that but the screen additions make it look worse.
 
I'll pop on the server tonight Dg and see what's new. I haven't played since the original legacy release when me and some work mates built up a few bases and such, loved it then but there wasn't a lot to do.

My brother just bought this but is struggling to run it on his pc, currently getting 18fps on low lol.

Q6600 @ 3.2
4gb ram
GTX 280

Is it a lost cause or would a cheap gfx card like a 750ti make it playable on low-medium? Also thinking it might need some more ram but the Geil black dragon 4gb currently in there is hard to find now and expensive.

I feel a bit bad for him as he was excited to play it and just bought it with his mate :(.
 
I'd say the RAM and a 750ti might give him a nice little boost. On the other end of the scale I'm not too happy as the game doesn't support SLI so I have a 980ti doing jack all haha.
 
Recently started playing this and having a good laugh.

I find the game quite demanding, however my gtx 480 getting old.

I play with 2 friends and built I really good race, and he a few raiding trying to get in and trying to shoot us from a distance. I managed to kill 2 with my Thompson and he raged quit as he had some good gear on him.

Enjoying it so far :)

Cheers, I am surprised his pc cant run it, when I had that PC I played all the Stalker games on it, albeit with some setting lowered, but it still look far better than this game.
 
Jumped onto the server a couple nights back and played for a couple of hours figuring out all the new stuff. The game looks amazing now, really beautiful.

Unfortunately the little hut I made for myself obviously wasn't secure enough as someone broke in and took everything and deleted most of the house leaving me in just a small metal container when I woke up. Sad times, I promptly went and killed myself in the radiation zone nearby out of frustration.

Tried joining a vanilla official server and got shot by a lovely guy who looted my rock and the wood I had gathered and left me with 7 health and no way of gathering anything so I killed myself on some spikes. That server was madly overcrowded though, couldn't find anywhere out of sight of other settlements even after running for 20 minutes.

I'll try your server again Dg and find a more hidden place for my house this time!

I usually stick to the servers that have about 5-10 people playing and 15 sleepers. Obviously some people like the more populated servers and some like the less populated. I find its a god mix where you can easily build your base but still may be found by someone
