Raymond, awesome work all round.
Is this your involvement for this wedding over now that the book is done? How do you feel?
Have you learnt anything major which you'll carry into your future work?
Would be great to hear your thoughts on how you thought it all went. Personally, I think you have done a bloody fantastic job!!
The core of the work are done, things left to do:-
1 - Need to output the photos again from LR, as I added 1 more...which mucked up the sequencing.
2 - Burn it to DVD and get a nice CD/DVD case.
3 - Update website with pics.
Things I've learn from this.
1 - Be prepared all the time, keep on eye on the number of shots left in the camera and prepare for what is ahead. I remember I had like 10 shots left and they were about to exchange rings in the church and i knew i either change now and waste 10 shots of spaces on a card or finish them up and swap it over now. I opted for the latter kinda and I had a new card in my mouth ready to swap over.
2 - Save my adjustments in presets in LR, i ended up with 600 pics in the end, and could save a lot of time to made a preset if i knew now what I was going to do at the start of processing.
3 - Get myself a 24-70L ASAP, it is the daddy lens for weddings for me.
4 - Get more memory, the 5Dii eats through them, the amount of time i was there, i could've done with another 8G card really. taking it to 60G.
5 - Be friendly to everyone, talk to the bride as a friend, we hugged several times during the day like friends do. It makes her to be more comfortable to have me around.
6 - Pay attention to little things really helps, photograph the flowers, ribbons, table decor, not only it gives the images a nicer flow at the end, give the book/set of photos a sense of place and time.
I have certainly enjoyed the wedding, and if they are all like that, I would seriously consider doing this full time !
Raymond,
One thing I have seen in other albums which you haven't done is the use of other photographs as a watermark over which a single or multiple active images are placed.
It looks great when the watermark image(s) are almost greyscale under the colour of the main image(s).
Not come across that myself but the template i used on the book are all self made, not a BookSmart Template. I am sure you can add boarders to the images that over lay another but in this instance I opted not to
