RX VEGA AIB Cards Information Needed?

Vega will disappear like fury did by the looks of it.
Reference models are now EOL by the looks of it too.

Correct, a few weeks ago I went about buying everything I could find, which was not even 500 units, yesterday before the Black Friday campaign I had 300 units in stock, were now just sitting at over 100 units, hence they will not last long.

We are working with Sapphire to try and build another batch of VEGA 56, but if we cannot get them here in a short time frame, they will be cancelled.

Well that depends on whether the AIBs try and do some binning and work with the power draw.
Vega can be made to be quite decent in power efficiency, thus heat if you undervolt it. Heck undervolting on its own without touching an overclock will likely raise the speed of most Reference cards.

So then it is safe to say vega was a flop?

Is there no more production at all? So are we not going to see any vega 64 AIBs now except for a few powercolour's?

If so, wow.....

Problem with under volting/overclocking etc is it’s very chip dependant. Some will do it, some won’t which is why vega hasn’t been able to achieve such efficiencies across the board and why AIB partners won’t be able to magically rescue it.

I think AMD has more profitable uses for the Vega components then supplying via this route, it'll be upto the AIB to make the sales I guess. I'm thinking this means its more likely AMD will release a 2nd phase to Vega and probably cheaper for them to make.

Case temps dont have to rise if there is sufficient airflow in and out

No, I think he means no more reference cards, and certainly no Vega anywhere near current pricing. It will be AIB only and mega bucks.

As above that's just the end of reference Vega supply.

On the plus side it will see the value price of existing Vega reference cards rise as supply can't keep up with the increasing mining demand. Always nice to be able to trade up more favourably at a later date.

Still is that not rather bad even for reference cards? Don't think AMd or even nvidia have ever stopped production of reference cards as soon as that?

True, but you have to move a significant amount of air to maintain that, whereas an AIO done right doesn't blow into the case. one to 2 fans if you want to push/pull vs. more at higher RPM to shift the air and all the other components suffering as a consequence.

I wish OEM's would just sell a bare board without shroud or HSF and let me spend the money cooling it. I'd even cop a shorter warranty or some sort of online "connect to my PC and stress test it" validation for a reduction in purchase price.
