Ryan's Headphone Review Thread

Just purchased the Sennheiser HD650 again.. They are nearly tied with the DT 770 for how many times I've sold and bought again.

Forgot how lush and liquid these are! So intimate and gorgeous why did I sale them!

Haha good idea. I actually quite confident that they won't be going anywhere this time. I was going to go for the HD600 but the 650 has that really nice sultry sound that is exclusive to them.

Thanks for your reviews, interesting read. :)

Though I'm curious how to come to such precise scoring system with a decimal point?

It's just how I like to score things. There's headphones that could both be an 8.5 but may do something a hair better for an 8.6 I think really hard about my scoring and I like to score differently rather than just a plain 8 or 9 for everything in that category. Short answer a never of different reasons lol

That's the one I was waiting for. :D
I know how much you were impressed with the K712, so I was waiting to see how they stacked up against each other and what you said was literally music to my ears. I shall hopefully be joining you as an HD 650 owner in another week or so :)

I've been on the fence between the HD 650 and the K712 but I think the Sennheiser is the one that fits my needs perfectly. I already have a modded pair of AKG K702's, so the more analytical side is covered. What I want is a pair of headphones that are comfortable and light, with a warm, relaxing and above all, musical sound for just laying back on the couch and enjoying my music. I think the HD 650 are the ones.

I was going to sell my HD650's but just ordered a bottle head crack amplifier so looks like they are staying.

Ryan, any experience with the E7 or E07K? Tempted to pick up one as a DAC for my home setup, and for use as a portable DAC with (possibly the Qs) or a range of IEMs.

So I bought some Sony MDR1-NC headphones to replace my Audio Technica ATH-A900s at work because whilst a good set they were very open. Will try to summarise my thoughts once I've had a proper listen.

Still on my 12 year old HD600s I got from askdirect for £120 :D

Although turning a little into Triggers broom as I was planning on replacing the headband, which will leave only the grills and drivers as original parts.

I've thought about the 650s, but I'd really like another pair of 600s
