Ryse: Son of Rome GPU performance benchmark

Is this the game that busted Crytek?

Crytek didn't bust. I know someone who works at their Nottingham offices and they've been going through some administrative changes and shift arounds.

I would hardly call this game their finest hour though, but when are launch titles ever.

I think the best part about this game so far it seems is it might potentially add to the other two games in the sub forum that AMD cards do better in :p

Dont forget the crazy amount of Overclocking the 980 has needed to get top at 1080p on the Aliens Bench.
Its up there by brute force.

Welcome to the world of overclocking on overclockers.co.uk. Weird how none of the GPUs are run at stock in a benching thread :o

lol they are like 23-28fps ahead, even a mild overclock would put it 15-20fps ahead.

People raving on about AMD winning Sniper Elite 3 benchmark by tiny amounts using mantle then not impressed when a 980 smashes AMD out the park with a 20+fps lead.

What about 4k? where most gamer's are heading? or Sli why no Sli scores?

We'll all care about 4k when we arrive there, the majority of people don't use that res and won't for a good while, even you know that.

Probably why nvidia didn't see the need to cater their new cards for 4k as they know the amount of their market using it is tiny.

None? mine is there :p

Yer, just seen you are at the very bottom. And Ayahuasca is spot on, you give it the biggen when AMD are in the lead and get all humpty when AMD lose. You shouldn't dish it if you can't take it ;)

I thought you had a 290X?

What are you taking about? Most 980s will do at least 1500 core.

Shanks, take a timeout lol!

If anything is balls to the wall it is Pulse with his 1340 core. You cannot compare clocks across architectures. This has been covered so many times

Respectively 1340 core is as much as anyone will achieve on a 290x on water.
1500 to 1600 is with as little as 87mv whilst keeping within 175w TDP. You're not even scratching the surface with the 980. I'm bouncing off the power limit constantly.

in general how you lot go back and forwards in these benchmarks lol.

It's a benchmark thread, comments like yours which are completely off topic are even worse than people arguing about the topic.

I couldn't care less who's in the lead I just thought I'd make a point to shankly raving about winning one benchmark by a tiny amount then trying to discredit people in this one because they're running high overclocks, and to be perfectly honest I think we'll see 980's with higher overclocks than that when the classified arrives.
