Ryzen "2" ?

I am no enthusiast, know nothing of the inner workings of a cpu etc. But this is the exact point most gamers should take away from this. Bottlenecks, clockspeed's,bickering about brands and minutiae do not matter to most gamers outside tech forums. I think hotwired pretty much sums it all up there.... either will do the job fine :) .

Ryzen still struggles in certain situations in certain games though. The extremely low combined scores in Firestrike are still proof of that.

I'd like to see someone on a 2000 series who owns Destiny 2 do to the rig public event on titan, especially in the rain, and see how FPS drops there. I was down to 55fps on a 1600. My 8600k was more than double that in the same situation. Look one way, hit the fps cap, look the other way, plummet into the 50s.

This is exactly the sort of brand signaling that people tire of, "My 8600k was more than double that in the same situation" that is such a fantastical thing to say it goes way beyond what anyone outside of your own echo chamber would believe.
I have a 1600 and a GTX 1070, this is BS.

It's the exact thing people should want to see, Intel or AMD - the negatives of each. Pretty sure he's also linked a screenshot illustrating the point in the d2 thread as well.

Yes but facts, not complete hyperbole to extra extra extra make a point to virtue one brand over the other.

If you call a difference of 417 in the combined score of my 2700x and the only 8700K above mine, then you really are "straw clutching". Even more so when both cpu's have combined scores of over 7000 and the 8700K had to clocked to 5.3Ghz as well.

Ya, more hyperbole.....

Your 2700X @ 4.2Ghz

The best 8700K at 5.3Ghz

So for 26% higher clocks (4.2Ghz vs 5.3Ghz) the 8700K scores 6% higher.

That actually leaves me feeling far more impressed with what the 2700X achieved.

The pictures don't load at work so I've no idea if it backs up your argument or his but it was the 2700x v 8700k thread https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/posts/31786149/

Thanks, its just two screen shots of the game running what must be his Ryzen 1600, a frame rate counter in the top right, no GPU or CPU readouts and no comparisons, on their own pretty meaningless. :)

I have a 1600 and a GTX 1070, this is BS.

I have tried exactly what he suggests in D2 and the frame rate does dip in that specific area. Does it detract from the game, not for me, but gsync. :)

I have no doubt it does, Ryzen 1600 vs 8600K on a 1080TI.... it will, "My 8600k was more than double that in the same situation" i have issues with that statement, it seems to me exaggerated hyperbole.

Same with this sort of crap....

"The extremely low combined scores"

Turns out that's 6% to the very best 5.3Ghz 8700K....

Its the same sort of crap that leads people to bang on about how the 8700K does 5Ghz and more but leave out the fact that you have to take it apart and void the warranty in doing that and use very expensive cooling on top of it, its not lying but its deliberately omitting to tell the whole truth to mislead.
The sort of cynical crap that PR people do all the time.

This is with a 2700x. :)

Nope, Ryzen 1600 :)

No, I meant I tried it with my 2700X and it does dip, like he says, in that exact situation. :)

You move around the frame rates go up and down, this is true for anything and everything.

What he said was the 8600K is more than twice as fast, this is not what you are saying.
