Ryzen "2" ?

But what version of calculator ??

I use 4 versions. All give DIFFERENT timing options to try out....
1.2.0 Beta 2 is newest maximum fast setting my ddr can do is 3400cl14 with no errors speed whise its on pair with 3533cl15 on cpu side.

Ryzen and Ram is normal users nightmare :D

It be the newest at the time I tried it a few weeks back.

Did a longer mem test using the DOCP 3200 setting on the CH7, got 1 error at around 735%. This is the 8Pack 2x 8GB 3200mhz Memory and its rated to run at this setting?
Are memory errors linked with CPU settings? (I have PB enabled and running PE 2, offset -0.05, everything else auto)
Thinking if I should set everything to default and then test memory to confirm that the memory isnt faulty?
Possibly. Setting it to default and testing again is a good idea.

Yikes. So now reports of x470 not working properly either with ram at basic DOCP settings. 8Pack ram too.

I guess for every 1000 successes we don't here about you get one that has issues and reports it.

I think it could be CPU on hes side 4300 is bit of a push then again should crash not reset settings.

Well I'll do some fiddling tomorrow.
When I first put the rig together, I couldn't get 3200 stable, and that was auto XFR settings. My noobness with ram clocking led me to believe it was fine, but I've actually had it at 2133 the whole time...

Ive had three good days with 4.3/3200, until today. Hoping a squidge more voltage will sort it.
Really hope it's not the cpu oc, quite chuffed with 43x all core!

Welcome to ryzen or you get cpu clock or you get memory clock. Both dont work :/

Ryzen is all about memory timings with that kit 3466cl14 setting at 1.44 from calculator should be mint :)

Suffice to say, this makes OCing me old Haswell seem a breeze. Still, I'm a tinkerer- I relish a challenge!

Something like this :)

TRFc is crucial to stability of system I noticed 277 can be full stable 278 total crash fest 272 stable ect its trail and error on that.

Be a bit more open about ram and Zen Zeed. Even with B-die, you know as well as i do, procodt is where the secret really is. Get that right and you are good to go at nearly any ram speed.
In my experience with 4x8Gb sticks, 60ohms is a good starting point and just work downwards from there.

4 sticks 60 2 sticks 53 usually does the trick. Dont have XP with 4 sticks myself :)

I've never overclocked RAM before :o

If I was building around a 2700X, what would be realistically attainable with RAM overclocking on a good motherboard?

It's not just the motherboard.

The memory needs to be compatible with the motherboard and Ryzen for the speed you're after.

That's how specific memory can be, some kits are so specific they have very short lists of compatible motherboards and cpus you will be able to reach X speed on.

Hello,

Ok, I might be being a bit thick here, but I'm confused about my RAM. In bios I've set DOCP and it displays 3200 CAS14. So, thought all was well with the world. However, in Task Manager and CPUZ, memory shows as running at 2133
This would account for my lower CB scores. Am I missing something simple?

Probably failing memory training on boot and reverting to 2133.

Can use this to show your settings, make sure its not just a display issue.

Precisely what mine does. :(

In my Bios, a few boxes down from the manual/DOCP selection, is another box entitled 'ram speed'.
Set it to DDR4 3200, that's 3200MHz.
Leave it on Auto, even with DOCP 3200 set, I get 2133.

I had 3200 working for a couple of days...

Bin off DOCP, manual, mem calc, use thaiphoon settings like the instructions, start with fast see if can get that working at 3200.

Also get Ramtest, much much quicker than HCI.

Hoho, yes I'd changed that before seeing this post, but it's good info maybe for others. Just seems silly! DOCP displays, shows the timings, so you would assume that was done and dusted. To then have to choose the speed from the drop-down just seems backwards

I have a 2200g with 8gb 3000mhz ram and all I had to do to get it to run on this was enable XMP otherwise it would default to 2400mhz but nothing is overclocked on this build.
