Ryzen "2" ?

Can't get 3200 running yet. Setting it back to 2933 for now. Had enough tonketink for a few hours

Not sure what tonketink is - a touch of the covfefe's

No more tinkering for now.

I must tonketink when i get home, if it doesnt hit at least 3000mhz then i don't know why i even bothered get ryzen, should gone for a 8700k and some 4000mhz ram instead, at least with intel i know it would work.

potentially more cores with ryzen and looking at 8086 thread some folk are having issues as well although that may be chip specific

I'm considering picking up a 2700X and an Asus X470-I motherboard to go with the rest of my kit which includes 16GB of Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200MHz RAM. I've had a quick search of the thread and can see a few people say they've had no probs with this RAM while others have. What's the general consensus on this? I'd rather not buy new RAM yet given the current pricing, so if it is problematic I just won't bother.

Looking at the XMP timings it's obviously not B-die. That said, it should run at it's rated XMP speeds even Hynix does. I wouldn't hold out much hope of it going higher than 3200 though.

Thanks, I'll be happy with 3200MHz for now to be fair, it's not the fastest but it's at least half decent. Just ordered the 2700X and Asus X470-I mobo, might as well give it a shot :)

You won't be disappointed i'm shure. It's a good CPU and very forgiving when you make mistakes.

Woo! That will do.

What clocks can be expected from a 2700 compared to a 2700x? I'm on custom water if it makes any difference?

Just can get it above 2800mhz guys... any suggestions?
Gigabyte motherboard
Maybe the ram is not supported yet? could that be a thing?
If it's cheap ram then it wont be supported basically :p

If it goes for memory tweeking I'm on 1.46 volts daily. As I see it Samsung B die with fan blowing on chips is all good for 24/7 up to 1.5 volts.
My Dram temps are sub 40c. People with no fans ect and just 1.4 have ABOVE 40c on ram kits when stress testing for comparrison :)

You know how it is with Hynix on ryzen best You get is XMP rated stable after hours of tweeking.

Is the difference in speed that noticable between 2933 and 3200 ? With same timings ? I mean mine are 14-14-14-34 and IBT gets almost same GFlops seems nippy as as well.
Thats cause of how Infinity fabric works.. Higher memory speed is always best on how that operates. Thats why I was running 3466cl15 for like AGES :)

Give a screenshot from Ryzen timing checker like I do so we see what resistances volts and subtimings are you running...
what's yours tFRC ?? must bi quite high with 62ns assume in 350+ range ??

Yeah would like to work on that next but I am not sure what to start tweaking, do I just try lowering TRFC....are there any rules..... :)

Maybe of minor interest but its important that AMD grow their market share among servers data centre ecte... that's where the real money is and its where AMD will earn it for real R&D, its what we want if AMD are going to continue challenging Intel and push better products for all of us.

The partnership base continues to grow, now includes such players as Cisco

The company has been able to successfully expand its partner base over last year thanks to the strong product lineup. The list of partners includes such names as Microsoft (MSFT) Azure, Tencent (OTCPK:TCEHY), Qualcomm (QCOM), Intel (INTC), HPE (HPE), and others.

At the end of May, it was revealed that Cisco (CSCO) will use AMD EPYC 7000 processors in its new family of UCS servers. This is the first product by Cisco that will use AMD chips instead of Intel Xeon, which I find as another confirmation of the viability of AMD products.
