Ryzen "2" ?

If it can overclock to its maximum boost on all cores, (4.35Ghz) or there about i think its a success, in most cases everything but Threadrippers and 1800X's overclock to about 3.9Ghz.

If the 2600 and 2700 series Ryzen + can get to 4.3Ghz overclocks its 10% higher performance, it was always just going to be an improved refresh, in that context its not bad, much better than Intel's "Tick" refreshes, its as good as their "Tock" upgrades.

I'm encouraged by CanardPC's removal of the x470 Gaming results because of "cheating", that difference they quoted closed the gap to the 8700K to -5 or 8%.
This benchmarking was again done on a 300 series Motherboard, a Gigabyte X370.

Add to that the 2800X is missing from all this, that will aprear when Intel's Z390 8 core platform does and if that's "the fastest one" then its probable the 2700X is gimped from what Ryzen+ can actually do in terms of clock speeds. 4.5Ghz?

Speculation, zero evidence.

For an itx build, is a biostatistics x370gtn good enough for a 2600 or 2600x?
Or is it better to wait for new x470 or b450 boards?
Wondering as I can pull the trigger on the board now and keep it here until cpus launch.
Current price is appealing.

Cheers

Don't know, this is now the second Ryzen 2### series running on a 300 series board, and AMD have said the 300 series boards will support Ryzen 2###, but is it good enough?
Thats something that cannot be answered because we don't know to what level that compatibility goes to, my advice is wait, its a couple of weeks until Ryzen 2 is launched.

I'm working for you :cool::p
Can you do any gaming framerate tests such as Rise of the Tomb Raider, BF1, GTA 5 + games Ryzen is historically weak in? Thank you for your hard work and for giving us this information.
