Ryzen "2" ?

Seems z390 will use the same socket but will be a full chip feature like H370 and VRM count to match - though i bet it'll cost and arm and a leg!
And if Intel actually manages to come out with more than repainted and renamed CPU next year that that Z390 likely won't take it.

For many years CPU development was so slow that upgradeability really didn't matter.
But now situation is different and when upgrading from Haswell I'll certainly put value to CPU upgrade chance.

Hopefully the new boards and bios will allow for an easy 4.3 with 3200 cl14 if not more. 4.0-4.2 would be a bit of a let down. Anything over 180 single core on cinebench or the like would be great, I'd go x470.

This is pretty much the gist I'm getting.
I'd have hoped 4.4-4.6 and I'd have jumped from my 1700.

Reception will be interesting if it's "only" to 4.2ghz

This release is the Ryzen refresh though 2nd gen, not Ryzen 2....or have I got that wrong?

Yeah this is AMD confusing things for us. :p

Originally Ryzen was just mean to be a move from 14nm to 14nm+. with that it was originally called Ryzen+

14nm+ didn't happen, its now 12nm, so an actual die shrink and so now they are calling it 2'nd Gen.

Well hello there stranger :D

How you doing? You hadn't posted in an AMD thread for a while. I thought you'd went on holiday for Easter or the like. Nice to have your negativity back squire, we all missed it

So who is the beneficiary of your Anti-AMD wraith today? <- did you see what I did there, does it annoy you to be associated with anything AMD related?

Well You got Very good 1800x chip

AMDs hype train derailed every single time in last hmm 5 years. They cant hype me with their **** pr not after RAJA lies and vega

Ryzen was a bombshell. The 1800X chip made Intel's £2000 chip obsolete for 20% of the price. AMD didn't hype anything up. If anything they down play things.

Just sitting here letting the hype train derail itself again :D

I would ask you to define why you think this is a hype train? because no one is expecting anything more than a die shrink refresh, so lets just get that straight before you go claiming victory on a false premise.

Wow, calm down lad.
Just the hype train that I've seen floating around these and other forums of 4.5ghz yada yada.
