RYZEN 5000 SERIES NOW ONLINE - 5950X, 5900X, 5800X & 5600X COMING NOV 5TH AT 5PM **NO COMPETITORS**

Why? Simply comparing performance vs price, it looks pretty good. How do you get more performance for under £300?
Because you can get a CPU which is only 17% slower in games @1080p and even less for higher resolutions for less than half the price of a 5600X and if that £160 saving means going from a 3070 to 3080 you gain about 30% more performance.

Ive been following this thread closely and seeing my hopes of getting a 5600x before Christmas 2021 fade quicker than Trumps election hopes. So as I have to replace my dyeing Crosshair Hero VII I, stupidly, jumped on a Strix X570-E hoping I would get a 5600x to put on it. Then saw a Bundle for the same board and 5600x but didnt have the spare cash to buy it and send the board back. So as I refuse to sit in a queue that goes up rather than down, and at the same time I am not paying a retailer £474 for a 5600x, I'm looking for advice. Do I replace my 2600x with a 3700x, 3800X or 3800XT ( £280, £314 and £322 respectively ). I mainly game, with the odd bit of photoshop and video editing here and there, however I do usually leave chrome etc running with a good few tabs open cos im a lazy sod. With my rig being under a custom loop its a PITA to strip and replace the CPU IF ( yes big IF ) a 5600x did come along hence why im thinking go for a Zen2 and then grab a Zen3 next summer some time.

Return the Strix X570-E board, buy the same with the 5600X. I've seen a few bundles for sale over the past week that are in stock

If you can send the board back then do that and when you have the refund from that then buy a bundle - they will be replenished quickly too but with a smaller queue than retail CPU's. The boards will vary but they'll all do the job. Either way you will lose money as bundles aren't usually amazing value but selling a Zen 2 and getting a Zen 3 will cost you too - at least you'll have Zen 3 for the whole year and won't be stripping down twice.

My Tuppence worth...but I know nowt.

Doom eternal ran at about 200fps on a 4790k with 2080ti, maxed at 3440x1440.
You certainly wont need a new CPU to plsy it unless your looking to get 800fps or something in 720p :D

FPS looks good but it crashes 15 seconds in, just after I've torn the third demon a new hole.

I'll have to wait, I'm not lowering my settings! :)

My only issue is I'm limited to the rainforest as I have £250 sat in there, with the refund that will be back up to £530 and there are no bundles on at the moment.

Limited to the rainforest? There might not be bundles as I type but there will be - you aren't competing with the retail scum(like me), the chips are sent in tiny cases that can't be sold to people who just want the CPU and have everything else sorted.

Google '5600x bundle' and see what happens - look at the ETA's, that will be right.

I have a 2700k with a 3080 on a 3840 x 1440p monitor. I've been waiting for my new PC to play Doom Eternal, do you think I should just play it anyway, have you tried it? Doom(2016) is smooth as butter on everything maxed but I think that is a particluarly GPU reliant game, Pubg isn't very clever - even on low settings.
Will be amazing...you're in for a once in a decade experience...doom eternal is amazing

I just know it! Whilst I've been waiting for my 5900x( but recently got my 3080) I thought I'd see what Doom 2016 was like on my new card. Just finished it again on ultra settings and that was some game - so fluid.

I'm always jealous of people who haven't played a game that is objectively SUPERB. I've got tons waiting though: RDR2, any semi-recent COD, Halo's, GTA V on best settings instead of gimped...

Ah, I see. Wouldn’t opt to do that personally, but then as the wise forum mantra goes.... I am not a shop.

There's probably some protection built-in as well to be fair - if people order a 5900x now and won't get it until late January then it might be that OC's wholesale price(or currency fluctuations) by then will have changed too and if it's in the wrong direction they could be selling at a loss, which is 'sub-optimal'. I'm not a shop either so that might be a load of old pony to justify a price-hike, it was just something I heard.

Fingers crossed for this week boys.

also I have a question - not sure how overclockers works, but included in my order for 5800x I also had a B550 Tomahawk (and some other stuff). The mobo was in stock when I ordered it but it’s out of stock now, will one have been allocated to me or?

I don’t want the situation where say the CPU comes in stock tomorrow but then I’m waiting for motherboards to come back again! :D:confused:

There are no bundles on there, which is why I was saying I may have to go to Zen2 and was wondering what would be best bang for buck

3700X ( £278 )

3800x ( £309 )

3800XT (£329 )
