Can't believe people are so eager to pay over the odds for what the reviewers already called an overpriced product at its MSRP.
The 5800X @£475.You gotta be more specific, you just described 90% of fashionable new products.
The 5800X @£475.
Hmmm... I was also 600 on Friday for a 5900x![]()
Lol, hard to keep up with the page count! That was Friday 27th November I think dude.
I did @blackcell1 .. It showed as in stock and available for delivery/collection.. Was able to select the store and time to pickup.. Then went to payment method.. select card.. unable to process order.. Then shown on a separate link as out of stock.. Most frustrating..
Glad you got one. Hope you're looking to use in your PC![]()
Pretty sure it's the "generation effect" falling into play. No one wants the 3000 series anymore because they're "last years tech" and therefore completely inferior to any/all of the 5000 series processor.
Even though the IPC is only ~15-19% so an older 3900X would still outpace a 5800X

The “examination” website or the device usually found on printers, that has daily updates at 9:30am (sometimes afternoon updates too) have said 5800x and 5950x stock has been confirmed for delivery this week. Shame I’m having to check a competitors website for a hint that OC might be getting a similar delivery. Wish I ordered with them. Takes 2 minutes to do what they’re doing, and if I was in their queue I wouldn’t be so frustrated...
In fairness, on the Intel side +20% is like 4-5 generations of improvementEven though the IPC is only ~15-19% so an older 3900X would still outpace a 5800X
