7950x3d will probably be slightly faster in gaming is it worth it if only gaming in my opinion no

Reason why they releasing the 7800x3d later is to try to sell the more expensive ones which make them more profit and get the ones that not patient enough to wait

7800x3d probably be the most popular one
do you think there will be much of a difference between the now released 5800x3d and the upcoming 7800x3d?

so it looks like the 7800x3d will be released on the end of feb and the 7900x3d released 14th, so next week?

7900X3D and 7950X3D are releasing on the 28th Feb. 7800X3D on the 6th April.

The difference will be notable and greater as more games/applications utilise the greater 3D cache.

Ryzen 5800X: Stock MT 4.6Ghz at 130 watts package power, R23 score 15200.

Curve Optimised: MT 4.9Ghz at 110 watts package power, R23 score 16124.

That's faster than a 10 core 10900K pulling more than twice the power, its why i bought it.

Memory overclocking:

Cheapest 32GB Kit i could find

XMP 3200MT/s, after OC 3800MT/s.

All of it daily use. its been running like this for more than 2 years, rock solid.

Did you tighten your timings?

Ryzen 7 7800X3D vs Ryzen 9 7900X3D vs Ryzen 9 7950X3D

All the above for gaming will be the same right?

its only if u do 4k playback and rendering the 7950 will help, but for gaming they all will do the same thing with the same FPS?
Depends on the game. Some games don’t run as well on the 3D cached cores so will be run on the other cores at a higher frequency. Then the ones that do run on the 3D cached cores will have more cache to use on the 7950X3D.

Hopefully the cores will be intelligently used by each program. Fingers crossed that this actually works properly at release.

I think by default they will go to the non-3D cores and any that need to go to the 3D cores will be ring-fenced to those cores. The other cores are still a very high performance set.

The clock speeds on the cached ccd probably slightly higher than the 7800x3d 5ghz

The boost clock of 5.7ghz on 7950x3d is likely the none cached ccd
I remember looking at an AMD slide and the cached 8 core boost speed is the same on both the 7950x3d and 7800x3d. The 7900x3d is 200mhz higher but offset by the fact that you only get 6 cores.

It’s probably going to have some teething issues on release. It’s certainly going to give those who are interested in the 7800x 3d a good insight into performance if they are on the fence between that and Intel.

oh in that case likely not anything in it for gaming
I think it will be worse for gaming as you only get 6 gaming cores. Will be better than the the 7800x3D for productivity tasks no doubt. It looks like a weird half way house and I’m not sure anyone will actually want it as gamers won’t want it and people that need to do non gaming tasks will want the 7950X3D.

the 7900x3d is just odd makes sense for the higher clock to compensate for 6 cores
